This Mbeumo fella. Ive read he wants a 5 year contract at up to £250K a week.

Here we go... again.

Is that from the Newcastle journo who seems to have completely lost his head at United seemingly in pole position to sign Mbeumo? There have been some salty comments on social media these last few days. It's great to see!

We're back...and next season going on a title charge!

That’s the one, the wages went up by £50k every few hours that first day it seemed common knowledge he had given priority to us.

It’s so funny how upset Newcastle fans get about players picking bigger clubs and it apparently all being ‘for the money’.

Because players only go to Newcastle for the love of Greggs, Shearer and Ant and Dec and not their Saudi blood money.

Sandro Tonali chose Newcastle after growing up watching his uncle's VHS box set of Jossy's Giants (and because it was the club located farthest from a Milanese bookmaker he owed money to).

Is Gyokeres actually that good though? Or just scored loads in a terrible league, because it is pretty poor in comparison. He surely wouldn’t bully the defenders in the PL like he seems to on a lot of his highlight reel, or be able to still keep the ball after a loose first touch which also seems fairly common on his goals.

Doesn’t seem to be loads of sides going for him even though he has a pretty well known fee? Anyone actually bid yet?

I haven’t seen him play a full game, so just going off where he plays and the clips I’ve seen.

Also Ten Hag has just put me off ever signing players from our new managers ex club.

I have doubts about how many he’d score in the PL. I don’t expect he’d flop, but he wouldn’t get remotely close to his Liga PT figures I don’t think.

The standard of defending in Liga PT is pretty poor, and it isn’t a comparable league in terms of physicality.

There’s also the biggest red flag of them all: Rob’s kiss of death.

Even if he didn’t set the world alight and it left us bankrupt, it’d all be worth it if he chose us over Arsenal.

The Gooner meltdown would be absolutely top tier.

It does amuse me when figures are banded about. Any player will ask for umpteen amounts, and it'll be negotiated to a lesser amount. I assume if we get Mbuemo, it will be in the 150-200 grand range per week.

It's early days, but there is already a better feeling with Cunha and Mbuemo signings - not crazy fees (hopefully with Mbuemo), we know they have EPL experience, so hopefully they can settle in quickly.

A little optimism for next season

What kind of players are Sesko and Gyokeres, from people who have seen a lot of them both? How do they differ as it seems Arsenal are more interested in the former. Even though Gyokeres fee seems to be well known and a simple deal to make (it could be clubs know his mind is made up on where he wants to go).

I'll wait to see where they end up before giving you my views on them.
