Lets be clear, by Reform I am talking about
Reform of the type of political system we currently live and work within.
The way this country is being run politically, the way our politicians serve the nation.
Reform of the way our tax take is spent.
A total review & assessment of why & how our taxes are spent at a Government & local council level.
The Uk is in all but name bankrupt, we currently borrow between 100- 120bln per year to in affect pay for the interest we owe 100- 120bln per year on our 2.8 trillion debt we owe.
Without the borrowing we would default on our debt.
In lay mans terms we cannot afford to maintain our economy without borrowing 100- 120bln per year, just to pay for the interest.
This figure equates to a shortfall of over 1 trillion pounds every 5 years.
Our GDP is about 2.8 trillion a year, currently equivalent to 100% of our debt.
The debt and interest borrowing figures are monies that should be going into the growth, maintenance & development.
This financial picture is unsustainable, so I ask you do we need Reform?
Does the UK need Reforming?

Easy end, foreign aid, ukraine, trident.
========================================
Trident ? personally, I would swap out the Nett zero thing until our economy was stable and stronger.
Trident, ? your not feeling that our position in NATO is important ?
NATO has protected us for almost 80 yrs.
I mean the world we live in today is not as safe as it has been and our military capability is at its weakest, it has been for 25 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually nato makes us more unsafe since it funds and trains terrorist groups like isis and al qaeda
=========================================
Factually total and utter non sense.
Thats all ive got to say

We currently spend anywhere between 12-20% of our national budget on pensioners, depending on who you ask.
In a country with a median age of 41. And rising. A result of a birth-rate that is below replacement levels.
Without immigration, we'd be like Japan. Where 1 in 3 people is above the age of 60. Forcing the government to subsidise everything from rice and rent, to land policy. Leaving them with an insane debt to GDP ratio of 260%.
Either that, or turn the country into an unnafordable global casino, populated by geriatrics, like Singapore and Monaco.
===========================================
I think your missing the point tbh,& actually im surprised you are not across this.
But it says alot about your knowledge and where your getting your insights from
Of course we need immigration, but we need targeted immigration, we certainly do not need the worlds most needy for the sake of it, we simply cannot afford that ,as our economy is now illustrating and will with out doubt in the future be acted upon.
We need Nett contributors, we need people who can speak the language and bring skills that are possible to intergrate.
The current illegal immigration costs are just the tip of the costs related to management of the vast majoriity of the people who are arriving, many will not be nett contributors ever.
Currently overall we are increasing our population at a rate in excess of 500k people per year.
In 8 years that will equate to the population of the size of a city like Birmingham.
We are not building such infrastructure, we do not have the money to do such a thing.
Where is that money going to come from?
Where is the skill pool to train such a workforce ?
Finally re the illegal immigration numbers housing these people is pushing up rentable accomodation prices for the UK population who cannot get on the housing ladder.
No doubt about it our illegal immigration costs must be stopped and the 6/7 bln a year should go into public services for the UK population.
Legal immigration this also must be reviewed as our policy is flawed, allowing dependents should be capped and if this is an issue then, this is not the country for you.
Stop it before it starts.
This issue will bring this government down.
Ignore it as much as you like, but a huge % of the UK population see it as the biggest problem, so simply suggest , well all these people are dumb fcks and I know what is best (because Im basically out of touch with reality of what is happening in this country) is arrogant at the least.
Finally looking at pensioners as the problem because of the demographic is shameful, take a look at the
Costs related to welfare, benefits & the cost of illegal asylum claims.
Look at the life time pensions paid to public sector workers, something that is not there for the private sector, unless they create such a policy.
You will at some point be of pension age, see where your are at that point

Re pensioners,
Surely when you pay your taxes all your life, you build the world the younger generations inherit.
To be supported when you stop working is not an unreasonable ask, if it were the tax take would drop off the cliff, as people will say, why should i pay.
I do feel the budget should be properly managed, but id make support for the elderly, non negotiable and cut other less unnecessary expenditures.

Being back pride and patriotism by making people wear poppy's year round. Cancel all benefits for trans people and use the money to provide people with a poppy each. Bring back pride. Anyone caught not wearing a poppy is charged with treason.

Nobody's saying pensioners are the problem. They built the society we live in. And we need to take care of them through their sunset years.
The question here is about governments trying to find ways of keeping the system running in the face of unprecedented numbers of elder constituents entering retirement. A decades-old system that was not designed to cater for lower birthrates and longer lifespans.
The ideal solution would be implausibly infinitesimal economic growth, coupled with an implausibly infinitesimal supply of kids entering the workforce to prop up the welfare state. Plus a corresponding infinitesimal adjustment for things like inflation, housing, schools, hospitals..etc over the years.
No society has quite cracked it yet.
Which leads to short-term political solutions like economic-immigration, globalisation, and fiscal deficits. Countries turning their economies into literal casinos to attract foreign money (Singapore, Canada, UK, Aus). Other countries resorting to runaway sovereign debt to keep the lights on (Japan, Greece, Italy).
Some, like Hungary, are still in complete denial. For over a decade, Viktor Orban has directed 5% of the annual budget towards cash incentives and tax breaks to encourage people to have kids. With nothing to show for it.
The Chinese went the other way. Limiting the number of births by law until 2019. Sure, they got the economy they wanted, but their current demographics are a mess. Won't be long before they end up with more pensioners than workers.
Every society is making it up as they go.

Fair enough for sure
So there in the issue becomes managing the what i do agree is a problem.
My view is that the UK currently has numerous similar issues with its society, essential matters which must take priority.
It is for this reason I believe we must radically look at why & how we are spending our tax take.
Open ended mass legal & illegal immigration runs the real risk of overloading our already dysfunctional underfunded system.
At this point imo we need stop putting money into policy that adds to lack of funding, funding which currently reqiures ever increasing sums.
Nett zero, illegal asylum acceptance, abused legal immigration loop holes, welfare and benefit over generosity.
We need growth, even if that means we have to revert to fossil fuel consumption until we can at least develop a nuclear powered grid and the transition to a reduced carbon foot print.
Reducing our energy costs will help return our industrial base to a competitive level and ease the cost of living crisis.
We need to reduce the interest payments on the debt we owe , by reducing the amount of money we borrow.
From what i do understand the biggest issue with our energy costs are our economy cannot function without the level of tax take it provides, this is huge problem
