Well the links to Rodrygo which surfaced last night have been shot down by Romano today - I'm sure this of no surprise to anyone on this board and there-in lies the problem...
Financially it should be doable, we are on a similar financial footing to both Liverpool and Arsenal yet continually we shop in different markets.
The promise of the new stadium - finances and ambition hasn't been realised. Very frustrating.

Yea but it's been this way even when we were in the champions league final... Finishing 17th has happened once since we've been in the prem. The consistency has been the lack of investment in player wages.
City were not an attractive proposition but got robinho etc because they put the money down - get one in and others will follow.
United have been woeful but will continually pay high wages and attract quality players. You know they'll get back to success eventually.
Look at the Saudi clubs attracting top talent. League position is largely secondary to what clubs are prepared to pay players these days.

Agree with that part. The rest is just moaning that we don't have oil money. We spend on transfers these days. The main reason we've not been competitive these past few years is spending so much on Ndombele, Lo Celso,Sessegnon, Gil.. who should at their prices should be important players for us but we had to shift for nothing. There's no point spending badly for the sake of it
Your City Robinho example is a great case in point

To me, it was stupid for us to be linked with him
If you are his age, his talent, you don't leave RM to join Spurs.
Not today, not tomorrow or next year.
A little bit embarrassing

Outside chance of a loan if we link it to Romero joining them.

A tad OTT.
There have quite a few transfers between both clubs.
Albeit Real have had taken the better players, but it's not like we have bought duds off them.

Have they?
Do tell how many transfers have gone from real to Tottenham other than a not wanted VdV who they couldn’t get anyone else to take him?

Wooodgate was decent.
VDV no explanations needed.
Adebayor did ok for us.
Reguillon had a solid first season then God knows what happened after that.
So looking back, yes we didnt take any galacticos off them but not completely rubbish either 🤷🏽

And that is why I worded like that. R VDV was great, but older. Regulon, just not very good.
Age and talent were key to the post.
