Hojlund looks good. Team looks good.
Got rid of the majority of the incredible sulks and you can see it.
21 on the way guys.

The next match is just one more friendly, so whilst hoping for a good performance etc, no need to go overboard either way, whatever the result is.
Whilst looking for real improvement when the season starts, I accept there will still be blips along the way.
It does appear that Hojlund is keen to stay regardless whether a striker is brought in or not - if nothing else, I like his attitude and willing to try and show his worth and hopefully develop.

Hojlund is the 6th highest scorer aged 23 or under in the top 5 leagues in the past 2 seasons. Sesko, Bellingham, Wirtz, Musiala, Barcola have scored more.

Amorim getting a pre-season with the players was needed all along. It's a shame we fcked up last summer in keeping Ten Hag but hopefully what we're seeing now is what Amorim needed and was a victim of coming in half way through. Up the alamo!

All midfielders except sesko (who I think is on the same stage developmentally) Stats can be useful and sometimes pointless. The goal tally is good for a midfielder but average to mediocre for a striker.

Think Šeško despite not yet moving clubs is much more ‘experienced’ at the top level than Hoijlund was when we signed him.

So in fact Hojlund is one of the top two U23 strikers in terms of goal output over the last two seasons in the top five leagues. Pointing out that the others are midfielders doesn't damn Hojlund, it just makes it clear that it's pretty rare for a centre forward of his age to be scoring significant goals.

Dalot as our RWB is scary and needs a massive upgrade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think most people expect Amad to be our first choice RWB, and Dalot the back-up. Lots has been written about Amorim wanting two left footed players attacking on the right. If Diego Leon looks ready, there's a chance he is also a contender on that side (or Dorgu, if Leon gets minutes on the right).
For clarity, I was joking when I commented that Dalot was first choice earlier in the thread.

I think this highlights a broader point that we don't have a wide array of top strikers around Europe, and certainly not of Hojlund's generation and younger. His 60 odd goals isn't bad but in previous decades we'd have many on similar and then the more talented on about 20-40 more.

Wrong game I know, but just seen this little edit of the last friendly and I’ve not seen a selection of clips put together like this before, looks great.
