August 1st and where are we?

So we are into another month, and thank goodness only a week away until the Championship fixtures kick off!!!
So with the news breaking this morning about Coady doing one (away you go lad, flattered to deceive sums it up), and the gathering interest in Mads plus BEK it might be a good time to gauge where we are all at with the season ahead - points deduction, players, Marti etc.

Lets get the elephant in the room out of the way first - expected points deduction! We know it is coming so lets just get it handed out, deal with it and let the manager and players know where they stand from Day 1. I for one feel that any club facing a points deduction should have to have it enforced before a season starts and not after 10 games, 15 games etc ( how achievable that is I don't know)
Players out - Coady agreed a £2m transfer to Wrexham, the rumours of West Ham talking to Mads are getting stronger (maybe £25m-£30m) and Leeds are the latest name linked with BEK (potentially £30m as he has 3 years left on his contract)... so there is money in and wages off which is what we know was needed to help with a re-fresh of a couple of new players ( and yes I feel that another couple of players will do, don't go overboard).
Players In - now this is more difficult as apart from AB this has been a tumbleweed area. But there are rumours of us offering a contract to Josh Brownhill, now he would be a very good signing for us going into this season and free! His returns last season in a "defensive set-up" Burnley team were great so can he do the same for us? Would he pick us over other clubs sniffing around him? Then we ask, who else can we get? I would suggest a striker over anybody else, we have been linked with Fotis Ioannidis for over a year, is this one to relight and make him our main man? Also Richard Kone atWycombe is another name linked.
Just to add to this, we are now being linked with Max Lowe who is currently serving notice to Sheffield Wednesday (ironic) due to non payment of wages etc. Can we get him in on a free to bolster our defence?

There are options, not costly options but options that reflect where we are and that we can bring on board while still operating fiscally sensibly. What do you all think?

Only 9 days to go (fingers crossed although that looks up in the air with the shenanigans going on at Hillsborough) then we are back at it, I cannot wait.

Bring back the boys in blue/pink etc and let's get behind whoever wears the shirt.
