Eze deal done verbally

We knew Palace and Spurs were at the table negotriating

Now a deal has been verbally agreed

We will prob never know for sure. But the fact it happened quickly meant for me there had already been initial enquiries from Arsenal. Fact he kept playing for palace during our negotiations, I reckon tells me he was half holding out hoping Arsenal came back in. Prob even used the negotiations with spurs to get Arsenal to move. And the Havertz injury eventually made it happen. He is an Arsenal fan. So makes sense

Just hopefully the club have other options lined up. If I was Levy though to save face I would just go and offer Forest 75m for MGW. Or even the same for Morgan Rodgers. Hopefully it’s another Berahino and Son scenario. And not a Bruno and Gelson.

Probably some truth in this.

They should have walked away if it was all agreed and only the player holding out.

If it was palace holding out, then they should have agreed the terms arsenal have just agreed.

I can’t see how this isn’t yet another f ack up from levy and his stooges. If you pay the money, the player comes. If you haggle for weeks, this stuff happens.

No way will he go in for mgw. It will be some young cheap gamble now, like el khanous. I called this weeks ago.

Change for Tottenham.

We were apparently on the cusp of getting Eze and Savinho. We'll probably get El Khanous and Dibljng or something like that now.

Decent players, but - shows our lack of ambition.

It's disappointing if it turns out like that but unless you really don't believe we were trying to sign them how is it a lack of ambition? It's failure, it's incompetence. But it's not what we wanted to happen..

Bottom line is why are Spurs actually chasing players that don't want to play for them, and have zero intention of joining them?

Spurs need to wise up. They cannot keep getting played by tiddly clubs like Palace and Forest.

At least Spurs promising players can now not be shunted down the pecking order by new arrivals. I would wager that Bergvall, Gray and Sarr are all better at their age than players like Eze were.

Eze seems to have morphed into Prime Iniesta when in effect he is just another OK midfielder who has more bad games than good.

I think Spurs may have dodged a bullet. Of course only time will tell of course.

I think it's lack of ambition because we didn't make it happen. The player had apparently agreed terms, and then we dithered and dragged our feet and tried to lower the fee, apparently trying to include Richarlison....then Arsenal decided they wanted him and came in and offered what Palace wanted. That's how a club that wants to win things behaves.

Why are we even trying to include Richarlison?? I get we wanted rid not long ago but he just had his best ever performances and we are light on striker options with little time to go. It comes across really desperate and clueless. Almost as if there is no planning that goes into things.

Exactly. He's arguably been our best player for our first two competitive games this season. I've said elsewhere - I try not to pile on with the negativity aimed at our club but they really don't make it easy.

They need to pull something really significant out of the bag to keep fans on side after all this. Let's hope they do.
