Left feeling conflicted after the last 2 games.
Against both Newcastle and Fulham, we played relatively well. Midfield coped well in both matches and defensively, we looked solid.
Offensively however, we offer very little.
Who on the team sheet actually presents a goal threat?
We start with 3 defence minded midfielders, a defence minded wide player, Okafor who isn’t fit yet and DCL.
Okafor I rate, he’s the one player on yesterday’s team sheet who isn’t afraid to take a man on.
The other wing needs pace. It’s the one position we have adequate depth, and we start Aaronson there! We have to be faster in transitions and having a lightweight 10 on the wing isn’t that.
The lack of a 10 and/or 9 is hugely concerning.
0 goals from open play in 4 games.
Better hope DCL starts firing.
Zero Goal Threat

Criminal lack of creativity.
Brought in 2 non scoring strikers and a winger who’s hardly played last season, who seems to be out all the time.
Solomon must have been too expensive, which is worrying considering payments from playing in the richest league in the world.
We can’t 0-0 our way to survival.

A little too much panic at the moment. The popular narrative is the promoted sides are doomed to immediately return to the Championship. We've played 4 games & been more than competitive in 3 of them.
We lost due to a freak goal yesterday. We won't suffer another defeat as unlucky in the next 10 years.
Calvert-Lewin is being written off already by many. He's started one game. Let's give him time.
One player who's had time is Aaronson. The lad's a trier, but to start him & leave Gnonto on the bench is criminal for a side who's struggling to create. Crazy.
By the way, is anyone else relieved we didn't blast a fortune on Muniz? I certainly am.

Burnley do a Leeds and shoot them selves in the foot in the final minutes.

At 60 minutes, the game was there for the taking.
They made the better subs and forced the error. We sat back and offered nothing.
^^^
That's the other problem: we can't bring players
off the bench with the quality most if not all of the
17 established Prem clubs can. It showed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don’t have the same depth as others, but had better options.
Gnonto and Harrison were the subs to bring on, and leave Okafor wide.
Sacrifice one of the holding mids and go for it. They were sitting ducks and it was there for the taking.
The subs we made killed us.

We can all point to not signing a 9, and that definitely isn’t helping.

We signed two 🤷🏻♂️
Needed to sign two more creative players

We have to give new players a bit more time tbf.. we have already signed a couple of CF's, lets try and stay positive.
we do need a creative player though, a Pablo if you like.. I'm struggling to see how we can unlock tricky doors at the moment.
Newcastle, Everton, Fulham, we'd be up on points as boxers.. problem is its football.. and you have to score goals win the games.
1 goal, a penalty vs Everton is pretty worrying..

Obviously could have done with Buonanotte. Everyone knows it including the club.
I'm not ready to panic yet though. We caused Everton more problems than suggested. We were better side against Fulham for 70mins at their ground. Newcastle are a top side.
A lot of pressure on Wolves though. We do need to go there and cause them problems.
I expect to see Tanaka & Gnonto in for Aaronson & Longstaff.
Against a weaker side more creative players we should an improvement.
Okafor & DCL will both need minutes too They should get better.
It's been a decent start to the season. With concerns about our weakness. We've just been promoted though and the squad is going to take a couple of seasons to lift it to the level of a side like Survive this season and improve again. That's the target.

I see wolves as a mustn't lose not a must win. They've looked better than their results, though agree they'll be feeling the heat.
I think there's no chance he drops longstaff for Tanaka away from home whoever we were playing. At Elland Road, it's a different argument.
Gnonto/Aaronson maybe depending on opposition.

You could be right. Although he did start Tanaka over Longstaff against Arsenal at which was crazy!!!
I don’t mind going with Longstaff over Tanaka like you said. But if we don’t create enough and lose 1-0 it will be a missed opportunity. Which ever side he goes with has to cause Wolves problems.
I was pretty happy with the performance against Fulham. But expect more against Wolves.
