Mike Riley - the man who famously ended the unbeaten run - promoted to the top job.
Howard Webb - a history of questionable decisions that favoured a certain team - replaced him.
Jarred Gillett paid to come over from Australia, where a lot of controversy surrounded his performance, and despite a lot of blatant errors that the PGMOL have had to apologies for still gets fast tracked and given high profile games.
Stuart Attwell, famous for awarding a goal for a shot that went yards wide, who has been demoted and had a large number of high profile errors, fast tracked and given high profile games.
Michael Oliver, seen as the best, took gifts and jobs overseas paid for by people associated with certain clubs. Howard Webb told us he doesn't give red cards early in defence of his decision not to send off Kovacic. Yet all the evidence before and after disproves this in the case of Arsenal.
Darren England still in a job despite a number of high profile VAR errors.

Let's be honest, David Coote would still have a job if the PGMOL could have hid that video.

Absolutely cracking match and great comeback from Arsenal.

A few decisions that could have gone either way.

Fabulous entertainment, no corruption.

Too easy to say no corruption.
What is clear is there is bias and decision making that can seriously impact the outcome of a game.
If the first pen is given (and it definitely was a pen and maybe a red card), the game changes and they don’t take the lead and it,s a different game.
Our players were clearly disturbed by the farce that happened and their game was affected.
These are the intangibles that the mainstream don’t talk about. Instead they say “it evens itself out” but it doesn’t
Bias is bias

The first pen could have been given. I'm no expert on the rules, so I don't know. I can see arguments either way.

However, I do know that there's no way it could have been a red. As far as I'm aware, the 'double jeopardy' rule states that you're not sent off for a professional foul that leads to a penalty as long as you were making a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Pope actually gets a touch on the ball (I don't think anyone is denying this), so it's pretty hard to argue that he wasn't making an attempt to play the ball and should have been sent off.

I actually think VAR did its job pretty well today, and I'm usually a big critic.

The penalty that Newcastle could have had looked stonewall to me until I'd seen a couple of replays. The ball deflects up off the defender's foot/shin and onto his hand, which no official is going to see in real time, hence the need for VAR.

On another day, and especially without VAR, both of these might be given as penalties. Today, neither was given.

Why are referees biased against Arsenal?

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Maybe if Arsenal’s players didn’t throw themselves to the ground so much they’d get more decisions.

It was embarrassing.
