Spurs next run of fixtures

3rd placed Spurs head in to the next run of games in between international breaks having lost just once. Overall a record of P10 W6 D3 L1 F19 A7 GD +12.

It's been solid although not the toughest of starts. Things now start to ramp up a bit, with games getting tougher and coming quick and fast:

19 Oct: Villa(h)
22 Oct: Monaco(a)
26 Oct: Everton(a)
29 Oct: Newcastle (a) Carabao Cup
01 Nov: Chelsea(h)
04 Nov: Copenhagen(h)
08 Nov: Man Utd (h)

International break no.3

2 games a week leading in to early November. Use of the squad imperative to keep us fit and fresh and hopefully that will see the belated introduction of Muani in the coming games and Solanke in may be the back end of those games. Takai is also back but the likes of Deki, Madders and Dragusin still way off!

The way I look at these fixtures, we are playing 2 teams (now probably 3) who i expected might be in the mix with us for European places - Villa & Man Utd. Given Chelsea's inconsistent start, we could be in the mix with them too over the season. 3 tough games but all at home, so must not lose and should really be hoping to win 2 out of 3. This will be a decent marker for where we may be relative to others expected to be in and around the European places.

As for the UCL, a home win and away draw will keep us in and about the top 8. We could do with winning 1 of our away fixtures, missed that chance vs Bodo so maybe a chance vs Monaco. But they're no mugs, as they proved vs City.

NUFC away in the Carabao. Couldnt really ask for a much harder tie. The only chance I give us is that they also have a heavy run of games and may be our squad goes a bit deeper than theirs if we are making 4 or 5 changes each.

Overall, need to build on our solid start and begin to look a bit more threatening in attack. Some fit strikers would help! 2 wins, 2 draws in the league, at least 4 points in UCL and its a decent return that keeps us in the mix. League cup is in the hands of the gods, maybe scrape a penalty win, but realistically a very tough one 🙏

Muani played 45m in a behind closed doors u21 game this week.

Dom...who knows.

Bissouma stretchered off in his international game

Drag weeks away, Deki may be this year, Madders lucky to be back this season.

Solanke is a bit of a waste of space really. Just constantly seems to pick up injuries now - was never injured at Bournemouth

yeah. lack of availability is one of the worst traits a player can have, and on the flip side, actually be available for selection consistently is one of the most underrated traits in a player.
