The prices that Liverpool have been buying and quoting for players is just beyond ridiculous! I wonder who does player valuations for Daglish! Unless the person has been mistaking and calculating the figures Yen or something 25million for a 19 year old prospect with 26 league appearance! And now it seems Liverpool wants just about everyone and anyone that any other premier league team wants! For a team that just the other was facing administration due to debt problems, that shows a very high level of forgetfulness, even if they have new owner! And start with me about Arsenal this or that...fact is we havent lost single player, we have bout two Barcelona graduates for nothing plus a prospective you player for 1 million, Gervinho and Samba deals were finalized last week and will be announced this week.

Also have you ever thought of Arsenal wages? Much much more and wasteful on your players.

Good to know that you care. However, as you have about as much of a clue as I about our strategy, it's probably best you shut up, watch and then, only if it happens, gloat when the ship sinks - but don't hold your breath, the current owners, already a successful sporting frnachise, seem to know exactly what they're doing.

If I may ask, who is this 19 years old that we signed for £25m? Seem you have more knowledge than a lot of us Liverpool fans.
Have we signed anyone that non of us Liverpool fans know nothing about? How did an Arsenal fans know of him? HMM!

Jordan Henderson was signed for £16million and is 20, plus it looks like Ngog will refunt £5million of that transfer, which would leave us with £11million and Ngog for Henderson.
The only 19 year old he must be on about is Phil Jones, who is currently set for United, with funds of £16.5million - £22million being mentioned.
The guy makes no sense at all.

Exactly
Maybe he lives in a parallel universe
I guess in the same universe Arsenal win lots of trophies after spending little... Including the champions league

Are you a spin doctor.
Sure you may get some money for Ngog but that does not alter the value of Henderson = £16m (plus uplifts).
Still an awful lot to spend on a 20 year old who is yet to really prove himself at all.

There are a few points to be made here. Yes, it certainly looks as if we are spending, madly, at present. But the fact is that, for the past 3 - 4 seasons, with the odd exceptions such as Torres, LFC have heavily underspent or under-invested on players. Look at the individuals we have signed, like Cole, Jovanovich, etc, freebies or near so. Look at the quality of some of our investments in the past; they are simply not there. Our big purchases simply HAD to be successful, otherwise we went down the tubes. Torres is a case in question. Brilliant in his first two seasons. Since then? Injuries + nothing. Add to that that we had no viable alternative who could come on and make a difference and we ended up were we were. N'Gog (£7M+ from PSG ?) was given ample opportunity, Babel perhaps less so, but each had the same effect - minimal. In the meantime, SAF, Ancelotti and ManC invested heavily, maybe too much. In addition, look at the relationship between the owners and managers in recent years - not good. Now, the future looks bright, it deffo looks Red. Owners, manager, director coaches all pulling together. Yes Henderson is a risk, John Henry has taken some flak (but not from us - he's put his money where his mouth is) Lets there be more risks in the future, yes like Oxon-Chamberlain (from Southampton, I hope I haven't mis-spelt) and Conor Wickam from Ipswich. If Damien has done his research properly as he said he would, then bring them on. Massive investment I am sure, not to be matched by the club in years to come, what with the youngsters coming through under Adolpho's tutelige the need to spend hopefully will be much reduced. I am of the view that we will spend more, considerably more before the start of the season. Lets wait and see. YNWA JimmyTheRed
