Scarcely over 3,000 for the Bristol Rovers game on a a pleasant autumnal day.
1. The away support was seemingly less than one associates with the club.
2. We had family discounted tickets for the match.
3. We are in the top half of the table, scoring goals and doing quite well.
Looking across the other League 2 games yesterday they all seem to be at least 1,000 down on what you might expect.
I have been a little disappointed with both the home and the away support this season. At first I was annoyed that quite a lot of Burton people have seemingly stopped going over the last couple of years - at least 500 and maybe up to a thousand I suspect.
Yesterday the penny dropped courtesy of Bristol Rovers, a well supported club, who had noticeably less fans travelling to the game.
The fact of the matter is that during austere times folk have to give up watching football. Sad isn't it. I do sympathise - finding times tough myself. The 'working mans game' is becoming a luxury to some that they cannot afford.

I couldnt agree more,i feel very lucky to be able to afford a season ticket. The club have to there credit have made a fair offer by discounting for early takers which is good for the club and supporter. As for going away it doesnt surprise me at all what with the ridiculous price of fuel and of course as you say job cuts.Having said that when we have a cup run folk are like ants when the sun shines, theres thousands of them.THOUGHTS PLEASE !!!!

Well my two penn'rth for what they are worth........
Cost is bound to be a factor. Ben is doing all he can to keep the cost down at the Pirelli but I read quite often that it can be £20 and more to get in away, and that's before travel and food etc.
Time is also a big factor. Speaking for myself,my wife is part of the 'grown men kicking a bag of air about' brigade. So an away match of any distance is effectively a day on her own for her. She even thinks I'm a bit wierd for listening to the commentary but it's a compromise that I suspect a few of feel has to be made for the sake of marital harmony. Cup runs, especialy to bigger grounds, qualify for a 'we might never get the chance to do this again' argument which no doubt swells the ranks.
A couple of thoughts on yesterday's 3,094. How did they count the family offer tickets? It felt more like 3,500-4,000 to me and there a few similar comments around me when the figure was announced. Popside centre was at least as busy as normal and while the away end wasn't packed, the visiting seats were mostly occupied.
Anybody remember cash in the bag when the turnstiles got busy at Eton Park?
And how well was it promoted? I know it was on the website and in the previous programmes, and in the sports section of the mail, but is that wide enough to bring in new visitors? Apolgies if there has been other stuff, just that I've not seen or heard it.
Last word to a site I found - suggests we are 15th. Way behind Bradford and Swindon, though they have each had a season or two in the Premier League.
Ahead of Aldershot, Cheltenham & Morecambe who have all had longer to build a League following and not far behind Rotherham and Crewe who have been Championship sides not too long ago. 3,000 feels about par for the course to me.

I tell you what we are number 1 on. JA606 in League 2. Someone mentioned it before but every other League 2 site on here is virtually devoid of comment!
I see Man Utd lost 1-6 to Man City today. There will be a lot of Reds 'fans' / glory hunters in the Home Counties looking for a new team to 'support' tonight. Maybe we could get some of them.
