If ROI defender Alex Bruce agreess to switch to the NIreland side will Nigel Worthington, the IFA and NIreland supporters finally stop moaning about players born in the North declaring for the Republic.
Bet they'll feel a bit foolish about all the uproar they caused when Adam Barton switched from the North to the ROI - the ROI U-21 side that is!!!!
Don't think you will hear any ROI fans complaining if Bruce switches to the North. We will wish him the best of luck (he'll need it!!!).
BUt, godhelp Bruce if he doesn't perform for the North!!! Their fans will show no mercy and he will be singled out as he once played for the Republic. The bigots will have a field day!!
Those of us who are able to read between the lines are well aware of the fact anyway that the only reason Worthington has got up on his high horse over players born in the North declaring for the ROI is to deflect attention away from the mess he is making of the NIreland side.

Good point Boyce, Mc Ginn and Mc Court only declared for the North because they knew they didn't have a chance of getting a game with the Republic.
Mc Ginn has even come out and admitted he is a Republic of Ireland supporter

We currently have a strong enough player base to be doing much better than we are!
We should take heart from the performances of teams like the Faroes, Iceland and Cyprus who have performed well with a much smaller player base than ourselves!
Running around begging unproven players like Alex Bruce to play for us is undignified and insulting to both our current players and the fans!
No, Im afraid the problem is not with the players, but rather with the current management/tactics/system. Sorry, but you've had your chance Nige! Now its time to give somebody else a go!
