Newcastle had their best start to a league campaign in a number of years, the team was playing well, team spirit was good, fans were onside, the chairman seemed to be forgiven.....then bang!.....this happens...

So Newcastle tell fans that the deal could be worth 10-15 million a year. Based on the 35million already got from the sale of Carroll and no sign of it being reinvested, why should fans think that any of this money will be used to strengthen the team?
It was only a matter of time......

It's only temporary until someone else stumps up some real cash. Is SD actually paying the club for this, or is it cos Ashley own's them both it's been done for free?

Out of one pocket and into the other.

It's alledgedly temporary to highlight the amout of exposure that a prospective sponsor would get. And of course I should imagine Ashley's also using the current temporary deal as a tax break, so he wins both ways.

But the fact remains he's pumped plenty of money into your club, provided you with a decent, southern manager (not your local 'messiah' that managed 1 win out of 8 matches), and got you up to 2nd in the table. Okay, so you'll probably start sliding a bit now you're coming up against the top teams, but still good for a club with your history. You'll all still call it St James' Park anyway, so what's the problem? Take the money on offer and be thankful for once.

Take what money exactly? Sports Direct are paying NOTHING to have their name canvassed around the ground and now all over match reports and papers. If you honestly believe that any brand is willing to put in £8-10m when they can see the uproar that changing our name of over 120 years has caused then you are hillariously stupid. Only be a matter of time before it's on the strips as well when nobody wants to be associated with the club in his reign.

To Newcastle fans it will always be St James' Park but Ashley has other ideas.

Throw Pukka Pies on the pitch in disgust?

Anyone remember when someone throw a pie at Micky Quinn and he picked it up and ate it.
