some good news for a change - could have easily declared for ROI given their qualification for the Euro's.
Hopefully prove to be a good player for us! - Maybe Gerry's done the trick

One swallow does not a summer make.
All the wee eager eyes of the underage players will be watching the Euros next summer gazing upon Ireland mixing it with the best there is. Thinking to themselves 'that could be me'. It is a very long time untill your next competitive match btw. Plenty of time for wee Shane to get the call up he has obviously been waiting for.

gibbo - i think i know what you are trying to say in your 1st line.
yes that is true he could still get a call up - however why would he declare for NI the day after ROI qualifying for the Euro's?
But congratulations on qualifying, Can't wait for the Euro draw in Decemeber - always preferred the Euro's myself, not as many dead matches. ROI will probably get a tough group. Dont see why Portugal are third seeds when they had to go in through the playoff. Hardly fair that that Denmark who topped Portugals group are the pot below them!?

Good luck to him but who does he think he is kidding? he always wanted to play for NI? well why did he take almost a year to reflect on things as he put it? surely if he always wanted to play for NI there wouldnt have been a years delay and dodging Nigel nose. Basically he realised he was never going to be as good as Steven Ward so it would be best to stick eith NI for the sake of his carrer.

don't think it is the mighty steven ward that is the reason for him playing for NI

Who cares? Does he play regularely for his club? No.
Is he one for the future? Possibly. But so is Greg Cunningham at City and Shane O Connor at Ipswich (and I'm sure many others).
And most importantly: Is he better than Zinedine Kilbane? No!!
