Szczsney - 7 - didn't really have much to do in either half, but commanded his area well.
Koscielny - 7.5 - showing his versatility and had another decent game at RB. Very consistent this season.
Mertesacker - 7.5 - Mertesacker was a rock, made very few errors and looked comfortable on the ball. He seemed quiet, but he was very effective. Gave a few needless fouls though.
Vermaelen - 8 - typical display from him, was a rock, very sturdy and passes the ball around comfortably.
Santos - 7.5 - good game, he's improved a lot defensively. Still needs to work on his positional sense, but second half, he was fantastic.
Song - 9 - was absolutely amazing, best all-round midfielder in the league on his day, not even Yaya Toure comes close to him when he performs like that. Nothing more to say.
Ramsey - 7 - had a decent game, was a little quiet. Made some very incisive and crafty passes and moved the ball around well, but wasn't really that penetrative. Good performance though.
Arteta - 7.5 - decent game also, he's still in his comfort zone a little, but he did win back possession frequently, and was composed. He also raked some lovely passes across the pitch and was very accurate with his distribution of the ball.
Gervinho - 6 - runs with the ball, was a thorn in the Dortmund side, but his finishing skills are lacking again. He has great off ball movement, though. He has to be the most frustrating player I've ever seen in an Arsenal shirt in front of goal.
Walcott - 7 - was a little quiet in the second half, but made some very good runs and did trouble the Dortmund defence. I think there were one or two occasions where three Dortmund players could barely get the ball off him. Holds the ball up well too. Not a bad performance from Theo.
Van Persie - 8 - what can I say? This man is just red hot right now. Two excellent finishes and he's always in the right place at the right time. World class player. Truly. He also dropped deep and helped support the midfield. Good anticipation.

Does no one remember when Song just gave the ball away recklessly and that resulted in the Dortmund goal? Or are we just gonna forget that ever happened?

Of course I remember that, I got very annoyed that he dilly dallyed on the ball too much, but his commendable performance overshadows that insignificant mistake. It was right at the end of the game, so I'm not going to slate him for it.

to be fair, we were 2-0 up in the last few seconds of the game. of course we would prefer for him to not do that, but no one will lose any sleep over it (i hope).

Agree with the general sentiment man but I'd minus one off each of them.

Really AHB? I thought the players showed a terrific attitude going into this game, particularly in the second half and we didn't bottle it.
If anything, the scoreline flattered Dortmund.

Let's not forget that it required the additional help of Djourou to play the Dortmund player in for his run on the 18 yard box.
Song bears some responsibility, but Djourou was Song's little helper in that mix up.

Yeah I don't think it was a classic performance by any stretch. Only saw calm fluid passing at 2 0 up. Their willingness to scrap and battle though was impressive and our defence improves with every game.

Kos deserved a 9. Song is better than Messi
