Givet banned for drink driving

http://twitter.com/#!/jarbr89/status/139469103294451713/photo/1

I wonder what you think of this! I know a certain individual on these boards would argue for givet to be sacked now, like kean? Somehow I think he will receive lighter treatment from the anti kean mob.

I know it's a bad photo but my mate sent me the link. It was in his local paper (sale and altrincham advertiser). I guess it will get coverage in the nationals over the next few days.

He's been banned for 14 months and fined £3,500. 53 mmg of alcohol in his system. 35mmg is the limit. he was pulled by a duty officer after he was seen driving his audi erractically along alderley road in wilmslow

So I assume we will refuse to clap and cheer Givet if he makes a goal-line clearance against Stoke at the weekend. Because we don't want drink drivers at our club, do we?

Let the double standard judgements commence.

wow, I often look at the PREMIER LEAGUE board, that's where I come across these and many other non Man United related threads, and I think "Hey, I'll have a butchers at that..."

Oh, also got relatives who live a few miles from Blackburn so am familiar with some Rovers fans and the area

fair dos, but you just seem to be here with the intention of getting up peoples noses instead of putting your opinion across in structured way.

Drink driving manager. Drink driving players.

Classy club. Classy people.

Where has all the professionalism gone? Presume it left with Allardyce, Williams and all the rest of the qualified employees we used to have.

Get this cancerous sore out of the club now, before he erodes all that was once good about our club.

I still disagree. I think part of the reason why some people hate him is the way he comes across in the media.

Personally I find him to be quite likeable but it is clear that he winds other people up by his manner

"No you didn't, you lied, you are a liar"

I said he pleaded guilty and I said he got off due to using 'spiked'.

When the Police stopped him and brethalised him and it was red, he admitted guilt. On advice from his lawyer and several friends stating theyd lie for him, he used spiking as his excuse.

If the police had used their brains he would have been found guilty because if you've had a drink then spiking is not a defence ie if you've had 2 and think you'd be under you can't claim a spike as you can't prove 2 wouldn't take you over.

Hope this clears it up for you...

My friend didn't lie, he pleaded guilty. I stated that he hadn't planned to drive it was an emergency that lead to him making the wrong decision.

I admitted that I didn't want him identified...

Now I can't be bothered, his name was Paul...

You said "I had a friend that got off on the 'laced' defence, he was a liar..." then "My friend didn't lie..."

When you say one thing, and then the complete opposite, that is a "lie"

But was it a deliberate act of lying or the realisation that I had said too much in the public domain and Peter might be identified?
