Time to move on...

Stunned as i am at the amount of vitriol we got bombarded with after last nights defeat (it seems many thought the run was more important than we did), it is time to look to the future.

We have a blank weekend coming up before we face B'mouth on the 10th. Time to chill, time to reflect and time to build up renewed enthusiasm.

We all know our No 1 priority is promotion, by any method, and all the other stuff is secondary. With more than half a season to go we are well placed in the league to launch ourselves into a promotion place with a few wins.

The maelstrom from last night will be forgotten in a few days, and we can rebuild quietly out of sight of the media frenzy whipped up to promote viewing numbers last night. It certainly whipped up Charlton who played like their lives depended on it, but if they lose their next game, and we win ours...then we're back where we were.

Parkin will have a couple of weeks to get fitter and gell into the squad better, hopefully learning how to link up with Rhodes better, and the rest of the lads will now be able to play away from the media frenzy.

We don't need anymore distractions, we're out of all cup competitions, and I don't care if we lose a few games on the way, provided we get the number of wins and points to secure promotion. We have 38 so far, and 18 wins from our remaining 27 games should be enough to see us up.

Lee Clark will I'm sure get the lads back up and motivated again, and I'm sure he's pleased also to see the back of the media attention. The numerous TV and radio interviews there has been over the past week obviously distracted the lads in the build up to last nights game. We don't need all that, we just need to quietly get on with things and leave the publicity machine for others to 'enjoy'.

Am sure LC learned a bit about some of the lads last night and i wouldn't be suprised to see some more loan activity, ins and outs. Meanwhile, chill, relax and come down to the Galpharm on the 10th and cheer the lads onto another victory...

One final stat ~

Carrying on with the new manager points jacko is making..

Gary Megson is introducing a solid hard working side, and Chris Powell is obviously doing well. These managers have been in only since January/February. Maybe you should hope Clark gets snapped up by a higher team?
