For the Chelsea faithful.
Rick Broadbent writes in The Times today:
"Chelsea appear to be nearing the end of the road. It has been a giggle, what with hiding Jose Mourinho in a laundry basket, but it seems the glory years are over and it's back to the days of Robert Fleck and Winston Borgarde."
In the same paper there's a full page article from Patrick Barclay commenting on life after Mourinho, the 'Special One's' successes post-Abramovich, his current achievements with Real and the present Chelsea incumbent's chances of survival.
One, presumably, slightly tongue-in-cheek. The other a more serious and thoughtful piece examining the direction Abramovic has taken, and may take, the club.
What, if anything, do you make of this? Is there a genuine sense of decline surrounding the club.
What are the positives amongst all the negative media coverage?
On balance of evidence, it certainly appears that Chelsea are in some sort of transitional crisis - regardless of the result today.
A win at over-achieving Newcastle would just be a case of dried wood pulp covering a rather large fissure.

I don't read the Times and I don't comment on snippets. To be fair I regard all the papers with equal contempt, if they write a positive article you know a negative one is to follow and watching these guys on Paperview or Sunday supplement week in week out only firms up my belief that they are pompous two faced slime balls.

For a 'no comment' that's quite expansive JFDI!

Thought I owed you an explanation.

Fair enough comment on the press JFDI.
But what do you think about the club at the moment though?

Same as always, the greatest football team the world has ever seen. My opinion of Chelsea is not based on results, media or what other fans think, ever.

What about results and performances - the recent reverses must have deflated you slightly?????

A win is always preferable to a draw or defeat but you can't win or expect to win every week, never have, never will.

You either win, lose or draw. While that's certainly true you're not used to losing at home very often. Until recently - that must hurt???
