Jones and Spence would be ok but surely first signing should be a quality left back! Second should be CM who can pass and take a free kick.

I think I'm right in saying that Jones has played a lot of football at left back, but I don't know to what extent he's 'out of position' playing there. I'd like to see a left back come in too, even if deals go through for Jones and Spence, our strength in depth in both full back positions is non-existent.

I see Jones is ex Crewe,so he must be one of Dario's boys along side Nicky..

A few comments on the various radio chats between playoff's etc have indicated that WHU are not considering any players future ..keep or sell.. till after the new manager has had a looksee.

the time scale seems to be up to 2 weeks for a manager...say 1st week of June.
If you give the new manager a week or so to appraise the situation, then there are negotiations etc etc, possibly by end of June we/others may know the score. It may be like last season no one will release till they have replacements.

WestHam could be a bit like Pomps, flatter to decieve, especially if they lose 6-8 of the main squad players, so the new manger may endeavour to hold on to all he can.

I personally dont expect to see too much activity till July

I'm finding it hard to believe that we'll get Spence. WHU will be looking to cut their wage bill, but Spence is a decent player who won't cost them a lot compared to many of their other big named stars. We'll definitely take him, but i'll be massively surprised.

As Spence is out of contract it is not up to West Ham to decide if they keep him or not the decision is Spence's and/or his agent the same applies to Billy Jones.
So when people say WHU will not decide who to keep until their new manager is appointed is not applicable in this case Spence can negociate with any club that takes his fancy or at least any club that says they want him.

Hawky,

That is certinaly true, however, if you read the interview with Spence after his Premiership debut, it seems there's no doubt as to where his loyalties lie. I don't think he'll come, he seems a hammer through and through.

At the very least it's good to see that KM is trying to address the weakest aspects of this seasons squad.

so he should chimpster if we are to win this league next year (which we CAN do)

well the squad i would like to see us win the league with next year lines up like this

Absolutely no chance of getting Caulker and Rose from Tottenham.

Rose has been playing full-back for the first team and Caulker will be loaned to a premiership club.
