Maribor (H)

Looking forward to the game on Thursday now. Should be a good atmosphere and I hope everybody is up for a celebration even if we go out.

Just had a quick look at the tickets and blues have said that once all other tickets have sold out they will release the last 2000 tickets in the Gill Merick, so there is about 4000 tickets left at the moment. If you haven't got your's already get yourself one today and enjoy what could be our last game in Europe.

I went over to Maribor away and for me it was the best one out of the three I went to (didn't go Braga). We had a really good three days out there and were made very welcome (as we have been at all the games). The beer wasn't too expensive and the ladies were beautiful.

What are people's thought's on the game tomorrow? What team will we go with? My guess would be:

Myhill
Spector
Davies
Ibanez
Murpgy
Burke
N'Daw
Fahey
Beau
Zigic
Wood

CH likes to make a few changes and keep the team fresh but as our next game isn't until Monday, he could go all out for it.

Whatever happens its going to be a great night tomorrow. When the draw was made did anyone really expect us to do this well and potentially finish the group on 10 points? We've even won two away games which was brilliant. I managed to make it to the Brugge away game and it was brilliant. Don't think the fees days we spent out there could have went any better and the result just topped it off.
They are only selling tickets in th GM if you order on the phone, not sure if you can still get single seats in other areas if you go online.
Could we see Butland make his blues debut tomorrow? Either way I think we can win this game and the team I'd go with is.
Myhill
Spector Caldwell Pablo Murphy

Burke NDaw Cagey Redmond

Wood King

Let's hope Bragas luck continues and they can sneak a win in Brugges. Unlikely obviously but you never know!!!

Would love it if we went through and as you say none of us expected this at the start, when we drew Madeira away, most thought that would be our one and only away game.

Hopefully we will get our first home win in the group stages tomorrow night to top off a fantastic run we have had in Europe and the Braga result takes care of its self.

Doubt they would throw Butland in at the deep end but you never know, would be a good game for him to cut his teeth at European level for later on in his career!

Braga will be going all out for a win to finish top and be seeded. A draw sees Brugges top the group under this crazy 'who beat who' system. Saying that, the crazy system would see us finish second if it all pans out as we want.
We need to beat Maribor before we can begin to hope (pray) for the unbelievable but as BCFC says, we should celebrate anyway, whatever the outcome.
I'd like it to be a party atmosphere but slightly hostile at the same time like the Ipswich, Vile and West Ham games. We can do it...

Anyone know how many Maribor fans are supposed to be making the trip ?

I believe maribor are bringing about 50 fans. I saw a couple of them at the German Market yesterday. They were having a few beers and a good sing song, fair play to them.

Might be hard to have a hostile atmosphere when they are only bringing 50 fans but shoudl still be a really good atmosphere.

Madeira was really good, especially as my Mom had paid for me, my Brother and my dad to go.

Really looking forward to the game. Gloom has surrounded our household for a few weeks, Donny was good therapy, hopefully this will be too. Then it's Xmas & a new year. Onwards and hopefully upwards

Good news is Mucth is back in the squad for tomorrow.

Ridgwell remains out and Carr misses another one of our European nights. Anybody get the feeling he doesn't want to play in Europe?

Mutch on the bench?

I don't think Ridgewell will play for us again.
His performances dipped when he last played and maybe all the Man of the Match performances by Murphy in his absence have caused a lengthy injury.
Or maybe I'm reading it wrong....

Yeah I think Mutch will be on the bench and maybe get 20 minutes at the end depending on how the game is going. Its a massive boost to have him back though.

I hope Ridgewell is not expecting to get straight back in the team because i cant see him shifting Murphy from the left back slot. Murphy gives us an extra dimension from left back and loves to get forward and delivers some lovely crosses and always capable of scoring a goal. But i'm sure Ridge will be off come January!
