Taity rages on.

No, not a misspelling of one of our favourite posters former username, but a reference to the real Paul Tait, eleven years a bluenose.

There's a great article in the Birmingham Mail where he criticises Big F eck for the way he went about resigning. The article is dated 18th June, so I'm sorry if this is old news, but i can't find any reference to it on this forum.

The best bit in the article is what he has to say about the players about to jump ship:-

"That’s what’s really doing my head in, probably more so than McLeish walking out," he stated.

“I’m hearing and reading that these players want to stay in the Premier League, people like Roger Johnson and Craig Gardner have gone on to say they don’t want to play in the Championship.

“Well, they should have thought about that ten games ago when we only had to win a couple of games, or even get a couple more points as it turned out.

“They all want to jump ship now but they put in some shocking performances and maybe they are not actually good enough for the Premier League because they took us down.

“It’s all right for them to swan off in their Bentleys to join a club in the Premier League and leave the fans behind in the Championship"

It's great to read that from a player who knows one or two things about loyalty. The next manager should make it as difficult as possible for playersw who want away. Apart from RJ, I believe all of the others (Foster, Dann, Gardner etc) have a couple of years left on their contracts. Blues are under no obligation to sell them and if they don't want to play, let them rot on the bench.

Playuers should only be sold on the club's terms - i.e. to generate funds - not because they think they're too good for the Championship.

Well we had a commited bunch of players and thatsthe biggest problem its not lossing them its that we would struggle to get another Dann And Johnson for £9M, a Gardner for £3M and Foster for £6M again.

If we raised £35M for those players the new Manager would only get like £10M tops to replace them and i think we would get less than that to spend.

When/if Promoted would we get £20M to replace Johnson and Dann i doubt it, would we get £6-7M to get a Gardner replacement i doubt it and we wont get like for like for much less than that.

Anyway while we can blame players the Manager is the one who need the stick his tactics was wrong.

I have a in debth anasis on why and how it went wrong and i could be wrong, and maybe my 4,5,1's and team selection could have worked maybe it may not have.

But McLeish stuck to his one and would not change it. The saying if is not broke dont fix is good, but if its not working then sticking to it is just cautious, McLeish would not change in case those chanegs never worked and if thats the case he would rather stick with what he used than risk unkiown and upset his XI

I mean we all knew what Larsson lacked as a Winger compared to the support Jerome needed, i beleave Larsson should have been given a central role.

We sign Bentley who even if he recaptured half his form he had at Blackburn would have given us what we lacked on the wings.

But McLeish stuck with Larsson even though we all knew Larsson was most likely to walk to Sunderland on a free even if we stayed up.

I suppose we have to wait [as should the players] until a new manager comes in.
Would there be any likelihood of Barton coming here if Hughton was in charge? [and tbh i am not interested in players criminal records only their ability and determination to do the right thing for the club paying their wages].
If RDM came in would that mean we had access to more talented overseas players to replace the ones who want to go [don't want to play for Blues]?

We wont get Barton his wage demands would be £40K+ no way would we take that on, and Barton would be reluctant to come here even if we stayed up.

Barton could go to Villa and be McLeish's new Bowyer.
