"we missed out on Dembele and Odemwinge, if we would have signed either of them we would off stayed up."

Would we?
Don't think we were seriously in for Odemwingie, but if we'd have signed Dembele, McLeish would probably played him up front on his own, or dropped him 'cause he didn't tackle back enough.

Hi Kid, always great to hear from you.

Upon this: "Dont forget its not the players, the board who mainly relegated us its that Ginger Judas down the road" we are never going to agree.

I think it's unfair to heap ALL of the blame on McLeish whilst excluding the meddling of Pannu the gifts from Yeung and the poor performances and just stupid behaviour of some of the players.

KiD assuming we are broke (because we are) if YOU were the new manager describe to me a viable and cheap team that could be assembled and challenge over 46 games for promotion from the Championship.

Knowing you I am sure you have a list of possible buys in mind already because I have been trying and have disturbingly failed to come up with anything close to a promotion challenging team.

What 'meddling' and 'gifts'?

Not saying that all the blame should be heaped on McLeish, but a very large proportion of it should.

Are you getting angry Hoggy?

I mean, Sammy Yu & his magic tracksuit, Zigic, Montgomery, arranging medicals and press conferences for players NOT asked for by the manager (eg Boselli) the trio of critcal statements released to the effing press slagging McLeish off, and the general agressive nature of the executive management at the club.

I'm honestly surprised that you seem so unaware of all of this. You do know that we play in royal blue & white and are based in the English midlands, don't you?

Are you getting angry Hoggy?"

Not at all.
Seems to me that you're the angry one here.

Zigic?
What about Zigic?

As for the other stuff, yes the board have made mistakes (as did our last board), but seriously, that doesn't excuse McLeish's major role in our relegation does it?

I wasn't.

If you care to READ what I wrote you will see that I didn't say anything of the sort, which is why I queried your response.

I attribute blame to 'Eck, to Pannu & Yeung and to the players.I questioned Banjo's assertion that it was all on 'Eck. Try reading it one more time for luck.

Zigic was a gift from Our Dear Leader. OK?

Good man

"Zigic was a gift from Our Dear Leader. OK?"

A) Got any proof that Zigic wasn't wanted by McLeish at all?
B) Hardly a poor gift (if that was the case), seeing as, once he'd got used to English football, he was pretty effective.

Odemwinge if i beleave correct was a player Sammy Yu was keen on, Gyan was another but McLeish had eyes on Mphela McLeish was cautious as Gyan would have cost £8M then and Mphela would commanded only a small £2M fee where as Odemwingie was double the fee and not as good record at international level.

So we waited to see how the World Cup unfolded, after that Gyans prices went upto £15M , Mphela never stood out. And as far as Odemwinge went McLeish had other targets.

Hindsight is wonderfull, but at the time WBA signed Odemwinge no one would have thought he would had done as well as he did.

As far as other players we cant blame no one, Bosseli we targeted a while back who knows if it was a McLeish target, the fee was deemed to much. And we left it at that.

Dembele we made the first move, we offered him more wages than Fulham and you cant force a player to join. Dembele said that he felt Fulham was the more established prem club, he may also had concerns that we could even still get relegated more than Fulham would. Proved he was right.

N'Zogbia Wigan wanted £15M, we knew they would srll cheaper if we waited, but when we agreed the deal N'Zogbia messed us about and i dont think he was keen on joining us he wanted Sunderland or bigger and had we gave in to his demands and even if he kept us up, no soon as a Top 10 club come sniffing he would put in a transfer request and go on strike.

Under Yeung and Co there are not many targets we missed out on, that was realistic.

Should we had signed Keane for £6M plus £70K+ a week could we risk that for a 30+ year old after we already got Zigic, IMAGINE NOW if we went down with 2 near 31 year olds taking over £120K a week off the wage bill we would not shift them unless another club offered them same kind of wage deals.

Jones £14M, rightly walked away he then went next season after to Stoke for £8M

Yes mistakes was made..... maybe 1) Why we never went for Jones at £8M when Stoke bid for him, 2) Why we never loaned O'Hara instead of Bentley.

Many others mistakes could have been made, but there may had been players who could have done well for good prices that we never got because McLeish or our board both never had them as targets..... Inc players such as loan for Sturridge etc.

Also Montgomery was McLeish scout and his sacking was one reason maybe why McLeish wanted out.

We do not know the full story about what players McLeish wanted and the board said no, or what the board pushed onto McLeish. I believe McLeish is the kind of man who would have walked had that happened.

Thats maybe why he walked this season because of sacking of Montgomery and the board saying most players would be for sale at the right price.

Sammy Yu had targets, he was not going to interfer with team selections, just said he would pass a few ideas for players. It as Sammy Yu who tried to get Tuncay for £5M but the FA blocked it (Yeung was not allowed to provide cash untill he owned the club he never at that point) Sammy also targeted Dzeko but we never tried because we knew he would cost £15M+ and turned out he ended up going for much more than that.

So we dont 100% know whats the deal back at the office.

All we knew is that certain players would have ended up being to pricey for our club, and then would they had even wanted to come.

All we know is we had a sqaud of players that i dont think was utilised to its best. Some dont blame McLeish for playing Jerome with a Larsson, Bowyer, Ferguson, Gardner then seeing Fahey used more times but rotated with Beausejour and even less Bentley and Hleb even Murphy at LM

Seems to me to be that McLeish never had a clue, who to play at LM, and simply would not drop any of the other 10 players.

AS FAR AS TEAM FOR THIS SEASON

Well their are targets but its getting them, we have to contend with money and dont forget being able to get the players to come.

DJ Campbell would be fine, so would Bothroyd but its if they would come to us, we cant help that. Like we could not help it if Babel, N'Zogbia would not have been keen on moving to us.

Some of the targets lasts season was too pricey for our club and to high a calibre for us to pull in. This season could be the same problem.
