Only Murray left after the first round of the Oz Open
Why do we bother?
Britain still crap as ever at tennis

dire dire stuff. No wonder the press overhype the pressure onto Andy.
he's probably more frustrated with it than anyone.
I went to see the Davis cup match back in september i think it was. It was my first time watching live tennis, James Ward played first and whereas i was impressed by the speed and standard of play when Andy played his match the standard increased tenfold

Why do we bother? We have a guy playing at the business end of many Major Championship tournaments. That is one reason why we bother

Ok, why does 'the whole of Britain, minus Andy Murray, bother?'. That better?
I didn't think anyone would take it so literally.
Disregarding Murray for a minute, it looks really bad yet again for British tennis. But will anything be done about it? No. There should be huge pressure mounted on the LTA for this, and yet from what I've seen barely any coverage on it. It gets overshadowed by the successes of one player and it's remained that way for too long.

To be fair to Robson and Watson they were hardly given the easiest of ties into the first round of the Aus Open, I was quite surprised so many Brits made the first round of the competition

Yes I can't begrudge those 2 too much, nevertheless disappointing neither they nor any of the British contingent could take even a set off anyone.
Baltacha's display had to be the worst. Our top ranked female player playing someone 50 places lower than herself. And she was hyping up her own form prior. It's not good enough at all.

Britains boy wonder slides smoothly into the fourth round of yet another major championship. You have to be in these things to win them and he is having another good go at it As for the rest of our British players, hope they are enjoying doing whatever it is they do this week lol
