Andrew Strauss won the toss and chose to bat, 3 seamers and 1 spinner. right decision in my view, put runs on the board and put Pakistan's batsmen under pressure.
And we're batting

Lol Afridi welcome back.Your right England should have gone with 2nd spinner but hey not our problem. I think England got undone by Ajmal's theesra and lost the plot. Even Bangladesh played Ajmal better and that on turning tracks. It will get harder for Pak as England will get better but for now we need a big lead.
Afridi my prediction was reverse psychology. Lets look forward to Hussain V Ajmal interview.

Kash, in relation to "welcome back" - I was laughing my head off at your lots comments last night . The admins on Ja606 are not stupid man, its common sense to see whats gone on where and why. Didnt doubt it for a second..... I just used the DRS kash, i was never out
Thing with england is they are slow starters, and i wouldnt be suprised, even with a 200+ lead, if they batted it out for a draw. But as things stand, they have a mental block when it comes to ajmal - that only serves our purposes and long may it continue.

lol Good job you did do a Gul and called for DRS when the ball pitched outside leg. Neon was re-joicing that you had gone but I know he was gonna miss you. Good for the mods to see sense.
This Abu Dhabi tracks gets flatter and flatter so England will bat better second innings. They will also play Ajjy better so our hapless pace bowlers have to bowl better but before that we need a sizeable lead.

Kash, because we've done so well no-one has mentioned team selection. cant beleive they've left out the left armers, i thought we'd see one of the two.......
whats the crack with umar akmal - poor selection, but cant complain i suppose.

yeah Afridi if it wasnt for Ajmal our seamers would not have given us much. Gul was not even bowling at full pace and Cheema is just Indian style bowler who huffs and puffs. We should have gone with one of the lefties no doubt about it.
As for Shafiq, i think cos he scored a ton in his last game he gets to continue which is fair enough.

Been an England Test match cricket fan for over four decades, and have seen the ups and downs along the way. We have played some superb cricket during the past 2 years and yet still I manage to enjoy every second of what happened today. Pakistan were superb. Hats off to the lad who picked up his sevenfor and no amount of T20 or ODI can produce the same drama as this format does ( I don't care how many people were inside the ground today). I still think this test match is going to produce some amazing passages of play for both teams, and you can not ask for more than that. Pakistans day by a mile but our team is made of some strong stuff these days.
