I see UEFA team of the year has been selected 8 Spanish 2 Germans and 1 from unfashionable Spurs team Bale.
This reflects very badly on the grossly over funded EPL. We know the owners of many of the clubs have no interest in the clubs and only bought them in the first place either to launder money or to be seen to have a nice toy to impress the people they may fancy.
It now appears the ultra rich players that have been spawned in the EPL also have no interest in playing football but just wish to build their enormous bank balances to match their ego's.
Of course at the end of the day it is the fans who suffer most. Despite the obscene amounts of money coming into the clubs via tv and sponsorship
ticket prices are escalating out of the ordinary working man's price range.
In recent years a different type of fan started going to matches. The generations that travelled for years in all sorts of weather are now pushed aside. Its debatable if these "new" fans continue to support especially when they realise the lack of talent on display.

Based on performances in Europe this season they don't appear to be improving. Of course they can pay £50m and £35m for non scoring strikers, very useful in any league. Manchester UTD would claim to be league challengers playing 38 year old non family man and another 34 has been in midfield. Seems they are moving forward.
