Day two

Of Harry's trial for alleged tax evasion and some of the details of the alleged scam have come out.

Allegedly he put the money made from player sales into a secret account under the name of his pet bull dog Rosie, see pets that look like their owners.

It's only been one day in the alleged tax fraud trial an things look grim.

If he is found guilty can he be allowed to continue to be a prem boss?

JPB :

The "defence" argument will be "interesting" .
Arry looks bang to rights. Plead. Show remorse. No custodial.

The IR will be going fishing on his accounts to way back when, anytime now.
=====================

People dont bring a case unless their argument looks cut and dried. There is no way to tell though until the other side's argument has been heard. Yes, the prosecution seem to have mounted a case which could be credible - if they didnt they wouldnt have brought it. We have no idea yet though whether there is an effective defence to the charges.

I do agree though, that it would seem unlikely that if he did it with this relatively small sum, then he didnt do it with other sums. So, I agree that IF he is guilty of something in this instance, it MAY be the case that it is just the tip of an iceberg.

I would repeat though, that I (and no one else) has any way of knowing whether he is guilty of anything at all.

We will find out in due course.

If all his pay for services rendered to Portsmouth FC were done with the same entities, then tis is not IMHO "letter of the law" tax evasion. Just that Arry being a UK tax domicle, plying his trade in the UK, for UK clients, would not be "spirit of the law" .

From what I can see, "Rosie47" is a personal bank account, and not that of a company Arry plies his trade thru. That is evasion.

Having a hidden bank account under the name of your dog doesn't sound above board though does it.

It seems to me he's dodgy and should have the rest of his accounts looked at, especially the ones where the clubs struggled after he left, coincidence

Mr Redknapp is alleged to have said to the reporter "I was due 10%. They paid me 5%. I said to Mandaric, you owe me 10%, not 5%. Mandaric said don't worry, I'll sort it."
====================

If this is the case, it sounds like Mandaric is paying the money nett, and if he hasnt paid the balance to the IR then that's hardly harry's fault is it ?
