2 games played at Abu Dhabi
Pak vs saff - Draw
Saff – 584 dec (De villiers 278 not out, kallis 105) (Tanny 120/6)
203 dec
Pak - 434 all out and 153/3 (steyrn 98/4, Harris 98/3)
Pak vs Lanka - Draw
Lanka – 197 (Matthews 52………Junaid Khan 48/5)
483 (Sangga 211........Gul 64/4)
Pak – 511/6 Dec (Taufeeq 236)
21/1
Both games ended in dull draws, although if Pakistan were abit more offensive, could have beaten the Lankans. No real turn/spin and the spinners have had shockers there – ajmal vs lanka 167/0. Having said that, steyrn, gul, junaid all have had success in the last 2 years, so although the talk is about monty, England should probably stick with tremmers for this one.
My opinion = Draw
Draw at Abu Dhabi anyone?

watch aussies bat through the night hopefully sticking the indians for another 400 runs tomorrow.

Isn't Peter Ried more of an Everton legend than Man City? He came to Man City when he was at Sachins current age?

I lost all respect for him whilst he was manager of Leeds 7 years ago - clueless isnt the word!!!
Anyone hear his words of wisdom in the FA cup match city vs united at half time...... "City have got no chance now, man u have won this and sir alex may aswell bring on some young players to see the game out"....... City responded by battering them and scoring 2 goals

Flower said you were undercooked due to 4 month lay off and that you'll be ready for this one - i'll give him the benefit of the doubt and expect a much improved performance.
....................
Pity he decided to come out and say that, sounds like yet another excuse. I even heard Peter Moores say England we not mentally ready. now i may be wrong but isn't being mentally ready and prepared up to the players and coaches, i'd be embarrassed to admit my team was undercooked. Players either want more time off or they are undercooked.

Because England pants were wet with the prospect of facing Ajmal that they hold out to Gul.

I do accept Flower's reason to an extent because England are not as bad as they were in the 1st test. The positive that they can take from 1st test is that they bowled Pakistan out for relatively modest total by subcontinent standards and Pakistan batting is slightly vulnerable.
As for England forcing a result on this wicket, it is very difficult to score above 3 per over on these tracks. If Pakistan gets beyond 400 in the 1 st innings it will be very difficult for England to force a result.
