Shame really, i would have liked to have kept him. However I think £200,000 would be fair considering he could leave for free next summer.
Adam legzdins

As you say though, it is a short career. To many that means earning as much as you can - as a friend of my son learnt at Manchester City. He was earning a very good wage at 19, then by 20 was back at university after a knee injury put paid to his chances of progressing any further.
From a financial point of view I couldn't blame Legzdins for making the move. But from a professional perspective I'd have to wonder how keeping a bench warm would aid his progression in the game.

One would imagine that he would get 5 times his current salary at Derby. What would you do in relation to your own job if you were offered that?
The other thing is this. Maybe he is actually better than this Fielding guy (who I know nothing about). Before too long maybe he will be the Number 1. It only takes a few howlers or an injury to get a chance.
Joe Hart is a prime example of how a lower league 'keeper (ex Shrewsbury) can get to the top of the game.

To see Adam go would be a great loss to us but it is all of our own doing .When your player of the season is your goal keeper it says a lot about how well the team have played last season.Adam sould have not been tested as much as he has been.To me the answer is attacking football with a striker with a killer finish. The amount of times last season I saw the ball trickle across the other teams goal mouth and the ball just sitting there ready to be planted in the net are to many to count. Those missed moments made are season so hard.Good luck to Adam and I hope he goes on to great things

I'd expect him to go out on loan from Derby with a recall clause. It makes no sense at all to buy a young keeper and sit him on the bench. Clough has loaned out our younger keepers before.
Deeney will be on the bench but then if Fielding gets injured they'll recall Legzdins

Unless he has improved (a lot) I don't rate Deeney in the slightest.
According to the BBC website Lego is being a bit evasive about his plans.

So, as every day passes it seems more likely that Lego is off. No fault of anyone and good luck to Lego.
He hasn't left yet, the money is not in the bank and I have not got access to the books (which are always said to be in great shape) - but can you think of a reason why we shouldn't be able to invest £100,000 in players?

we definatly should otep! Surely an 18 goal a season striker is the top of that list along with someone good enough to replace adam.

Adam Legzdins is a excellent goalkeeper, and has the potential to become a great!
However, I don't think we need him at Derby (yet), nor do I believe him leaving Burton at the moment is quite the right decision. If we (DCFC) do wish to buy him, then that's fine. But I think it would be in the greatest interests of both teams if he were to stay on at Burton for at last another season as a loan signing and gain a lot more (40+ games) experience.
In that time, Burton could have become a stronger team to be reckoned with in League football while The Rams will own a more experienced goalkeeper that can come in a year or so later down the line to replace a goalkeeper with great potential who may have moved on.

I hope that Nialle Rodney does well in his trial at Bradford and gets signed up before the money lands in our account. I would not want Pesch to buy him. He was bad.

I see Zebroski has put in a transfer request at Torquay That would be a good signing with the Lego money.
