If Bradley Davies gets cited...

a) It's all his fault. It was probably deserving of a red card. I don't normally say that for 'spears' as I see accidental tip-tackles happening which get harsh treatment, but this was just stupid.

b) Wales will be in a very tight squeeze with going with 4th/5th (if that) choice locks with limited cover on the bench. Injuries permitting maybe Ryan Jones can slot in there.

c) How long do you think he'll get?

I have to say I was very disappointed in the lad. I have a lot of time for Bradley, and was very proud of his first season or two for Wales (even if he's not performed to potential in the last year). But that tackle was just stupid. Rush of blood to the head maybe, but still just idiocy. If he does get cited I hope he just conducts himself as well as Warburton did and admit to making a stupid mistake. And promise never to do it again in a red jersey.

You know Gecko, in slow-mo it looked bad, but in real time it just happened in a blink of an eye.

I dont believe he meant to do it tho. It just happens very fast and before he knew it he was carded.

I think yes ur right, it should have been a red but for no other reason then the REF's need to be consistent and not really because the lad deserved it

I agree, slow-mos make everything look worse. But still, the incident he was reacting to was effectively over. Ryan was being a nuissance at the ruck. Davies grapples him out of the way and then the problem is the idiot switch must have gone off in his head to upend him like that. Even if it was just a flash, it was stupid and he brought it on himself. That was what was so gutting about the Warburton incident - there was no intent. Bradley can't say the same.

^. That. It's disappointing from a Welsh POV, but he has to recieve a ban.

There's no two ways about it, it was bad, very bad. Warburton was banned for three weeks after the World Cup, so I would expect Davies to miss at leats the next 3 games, and possibly the rest of the tournament.

I'm just surprised he did it, it seemed to come out of nowhere and Ryna had only just taken the field, very odd really, Davies has a lot of explaining to do.

Having said all that, it shouldn't detract from what was a fantastic game of rugby, especially for the (near) neutral

surely dave pearson, the gormless touch judge who obviously has no idea of the correct punishment to recommend should have his officiating capacity cited?

I'm note sure Pearson is wholly to blame, he explained it to Barnes and what he explained was, to me, a red card offence. I think both of them do need to clarify their actions, and in the sin-binning of Ferris, which I thought was a pnelty, but not a yellow.

he explained it all to barnes. barnes then asked him what penalty he recommended. he then replied yellow card. barnes is blameless. pearson isn't. yet another (burger 07 lions / ire vx. wales lineout ball last year etc) clueless touch judge

Yeah, I knwo what you mean, but I think having had it explained Barnes had enough evidence to overrule him on a matter as important as this. If you are the lead official the buck stops with you. I think the Philips try was different in that the touch judge gave an absolute answer with no room for a decision or thought, whereas that was not the case here.

In my view, both were in the wrong

He can't over rule him on something he hasn't seen!

He HAS to take the touch judges recomendation. End of.
