Have too say my first and only thought was another injury prone signing.
If he was going to be reliable he would have been snapped up by a team a lot higher than us.
Why oh why won't Pesch have a look in the lower leagues.
Theres good quality centre halves crying out for a chance of league football.
Wonder if anyone else has noticed his reluctance to sign any players from a lower league.
Met a couple of our old boys last season who commented on the same.
He seems so out of his comfort zone when looking for players to bring in.
Surely there can't be many more ex teammates he can sign.

i received a couple ot nuggets from a contact this morning, one was Riggott the other was that the club wouldn't be falling over themselves to get the game on this Saturday if the weather worsened.
Riggott was a good player 3 years ago, since that time he's not been able to play due to a catalogue of injuries, principally to his back. If he couldn't get fit to play for Derby i don't see it happening at Albion in a more physical league.
I wish him well but i'm not very optimystic.
I am certainly beginning to believe we have a very small playing budget in comparison to nearly every club within this division. Surely we would benefit from having a smaller squad of better quality, backed up with the promising lads coming through the academy, some of which are already in the first team squad.
In that way the youngsters will have plenty to aim for and we might just discover a few pearls.
If you don't give them a chance then you will never know what they can do.

What a ridiculous signing. Someone please tell me that this is a 'pay as you play' deal. This on the day that Tom Parkes joins Bristol Rovers.

Maybe we should run a competition alongside our other competition to guess how many of the remaining 18 games Riggott plays.

Over a year since he last played a competitive game. Huge risk surely.

Nine years since his last game for Derby. Substituted after an hour - replaced by Richard Jackson.

Played behind a midfield three of Adam Bolder, Paul Boertien and Georgie Kinkladze (is he next?)

Lee Morris played up front.

The Rams drew 1-1 at home to?

Gillingham, for whom Andy Hessentahler played in midfield so a bizzarre reunion on Saturday.

Don't you just love Soccer base!!

If his back goes in training or he tweaks a hamstring he might not manage any !!! The lad has a lot to prove to himself let alone anyone else
I wish him every sucess but am fearful looking at his record over the last 3 seasons !

It would be funny if it wasn't so serious and I think this is a mixed case of a panic signing and extending a favour to an old mate.

We lose a crock, we gain a crock. Can't see how this is of benefit to the club in any way.

What a great signing and to top it we let Parkes go to Bristol Rovers begining to loose confidence in our Manager and his team must agree with Pez they must be players in the lower leagues that would jump at the chance to play in the League , we have young players like Dyer and Ramsey Dixon who Pesch rates but never plays , we are fast becoming a retirement club for ex players who have played with Pesch , All the clubs Pesch played for he does not seem to have many contacts that can provide us with decent young players.

James Vardy(who we were linked with) is a player thats comes to mind, one that we would not take a gamble on but Fleetwood did, he's done pretty well there and having seen him play can't understand why we didn't sign him, but he would have cost money rather than a freebie !
Another negative message to the supporters

If he's on a pay-as-you-play it's a risk-free punt worth taking, surely?
