The morning after....

I exspect there is a fair amount of depression amongst Town fans this morning.

Everyone was really looking forward to the big match last night, and left feeling frustrated, and even angry.

To see the arguements on Twitter, including a blast from jack Hunt about the fans (which he later apologised for), it's like we have just lost a play-off final, such is the gloom.

How to lift the depression then ?

Look at the positives I guess.

We are 4 points behind Utd, with plenty of games still to play. Wendies lost at home too, as did MKD albeit to 2 penalties in a minute and with only 10 men.

We now have over a week until improving Exeter visit the Galpharm, a game, like the previous games, which we condsider a 'must win'.

The post match inquest today, and a re run of the match by LC will surely highlight where our weaknesses were last night, although in reality we had enough chances to have won the game.

Hopefully LC will tap into the obvious frustration and anger amongst the players and create some sort of bond and entrenchment.

Nothing is over yet, it's not like there are just 2 games left, and Utd weren't brilliant and wil lose games between now and the end of the season.

If LC has anything about him at all, he will rally the troops and we'll find some grit and fight from here on in.

The fans maybe need to do the same.

We're all in this together, as a certain politician said, but in this case, we are.

So come on lads, it's not over yet.

Spare a thought for the MK supporters who see their team commit suicide by gifting Charlton 2 goals..The league is hard enough to get out of without a numpty Scottish centre half getting himself sent off and giving away a penalty as a result (remember he done exactly the same against you guys at our place).
By all accounts we were by far the better team and like yourselves we just cant put the ball in the back of the net.

Out of interest MKANDEEE, if you guys dont go up this season will you be getting rid of Robinson do you think?

I dont think it will be a case of getting rid of him, more him leaving us and being scouted by bigger teams. His name seems to come up as a contender for every championship vacancy there is at the moment. At least he has the commitment and guts to commit to us unlike your manager who appears unable to communicate very well and does not install confidence in the fans.
our man is proving himself very well in his 2nd season of managment. I certainly enjoy the football we play. Could not and would not pay to watch Wednesday every week...Complete hit and hope footy. OK it may get results but its the same old hoof, head, hoof, head all the time.

I sat as far back and as high as you can almost go in the kilner for the first 25 mins, We then went and sat at the front near the choir for the last 20 and then managed to get in our normal seats behind the goal for the second half (cost an extra £8 ) and at no point did i hear any boos aimed at the players, The referee, Yes he got a bit, And so did Clarky when he brought Woods on for Softy Oscar,, So where did Jack Hunt hear the fans giving the players bird ?? As for Hunt, Someone who knows him well did tell me he is an arrogant twit and a bit of a koch,,, When we were at the back of the kilner it was quite shocking to see both our central midfielders a yard behind Uniteds in both pace and thought, Simple facts are that we have no gameplan and no midfielder who can dominate.

we should have won last night..on sheer obvious clear cut chances, rhodes should have got 2 and gobern missed the target twice with free headers from less than 6 yards..
add that to the keeper making 3 good saves, hitting the post and one cleared off the line we really should have scored 4 or 5.. Ive seen town play much worse(in an attacking sense) and win games comfortably..

smithies made a good second save from a shot he should have A. held B. turned well away from the goal.
They missed a good chance in the second half, mainly because naysmith got some sort of challenge in right at the death.. they had a few quick breaks but failed with final ball..
Smithies only made one other save in the game..

Problem was we continuted the long high stuff right to the end, with a player sitting on the bench who would have bothered their centre halves much more than lee/rhodes did..
We also let in a dreadful goal..

I try always to tell it like it was..forget any blades fans saying they deserved the win, they won, they defended very well at times(albeit to the same attack over and over again) but they know full well they would have been happy to walk away with a point..

We failed again, to change the approach and left people sitting on the bench who may have been able to do so..
I was quite confident at half time that we would at least get a draw playing like we were, I was hoping that an early second half goal might lead to him changing it and going for the win, we didnt score , we didnt change it at all and we huffed and puffed our way to a 1-0 drfeat..

Sheff utd play the hit it and hope game better because they have some pace up front and a central midfield who have the legs and the will to get up and support the ball, we dont..

Nooooooooooooooooooo Wayyyyyyyyyyyy...
Robbo is a DON!!!!!! (at least for the rest of the season)

I dont think Robinson would leave at this point in the season, wouldnt be well received in the footballing world and in some ways could spur MK on to out do Town!

I reckon we will get someone in for the rest of the season and then get someone like Robinson in the summer.

Warnock is free after all....
