With just a few days to go, and following on from tgsgirls previous great big TdF prediction threads on 606, here's this years competition for all TdF fans relocating here to JA606.
Please make your predictions for this years Tour de France:
The Yellow Jersey for the general individual time classification - top three
The Green Jersey for the general points classification - top three
The Polka Dot Jersey for the best climber classification - top three
The White Jersey for the best young rider classification - top three
Team classification - top three
The Lanterne Rouge.
If you get someone right in your top three, and you also predict their place correctly in that top three, you get 2 points for that rider.
If you get someone right in your top three but you predict their place incorrectly in that top three, you get 1 point for that rider.
Overall team classification is on the same basis.
If you also manage to miraculously pick the Lanterne Rouge, you'll get 5 points, because in that case you are awesome.
Cycling results are notoriously hard to predict, but who cares as it's only for fun.
The provisional startlist is now on the Tour website:
http://www.letour.fr/2011/TDF/RIDERS/us/engages.html
However, all riders may not yet be confirmed.
Closing deadline for entries is the start of the race on Saturday.
If you think you've won overall, post your total points score on this thread after the end of La Tour, and I'll verify to announce who the winner is asap afterwards.
Good luck!

Thanks for your predictions Frangymons and Steve - entries are now closed, and we'll see in Paris how we all got on.

Update after the first big mountain stage:
Frangymons888 - 7 pts
steve_keans_hairbrush - 5 pts
SG19Cowshed - 3 pts
posted on 28/7/11
Final scores were:
Frangymons888 - 10 pts
steve_keans_hairbrush - 10 pts
SG19Cowshed - 6 pts
To separate the tie for first place was really difficult.
steve_keans_hairbrush predicted one more rider in their correct final positions, with two of those for the Green jersey.
But in line with the higher importance of the Yellow jersey overall, Frangymons888 gets the nod from me by just a tyre width, as the only one of us to predict Evans anywhere within the top three for Yellow.
So well done Frangymons888, and let's see if you can do it again in the Vuelta.
