Let's be honest, our set pieces in general have been dire for ages. If Rafa hadn't come out and said last season they're never practised in training I think we all could have guessed anyway!
Our free kicks are also abysmal, but at least the duties seem to have been shared out recently, so everyone gets a chance to muck them up and share the blame. But what about corners?
When VDV plays he takes the lion's share until later in the game when they have all spectacularly failed to clear the first man, let alone find a teammate. Then generally Luka comes in and takes them short, gets the ball back, and does nothing with it.
Do we have no other options?
What about Walker or Bale?
The main frustration for me with Rafa taking them is that it's the one time when he's 100% guaranteed to be in and around the box to get on the end of things.
Thoughts?
Who should take our corners?

Modric from the left, Bale from the right

I may agree with you on the inswinging corners but I disagree on bale as he is the only player I think I have seen score from a corner of late.

This is true. He scored a header from a corner against Wigan, and one with his left foot against Bolton (i think).

Bale didnt get any against Stoke. We lost 2-1, with Ade getting our "1" from the spot.

squid,
Sorry, in that case yes he did get a header. His other goal was a volley from the left side of the penalty area.
