millenium stadium

minority sport, speedway managed to fill the millenium stadium for their flagship uk event ..again.

they do it every year it seems.

maybe rugby league should give them a call, for a wee bit of advice??

its not for u to decide whether they should or shouldnt have a club and highly arrogant to decide for them that they dont need one.

and whats an analgy??

an analagy! I am not deciding anything, I just feel if you are going to promote a sport, any sport you start at the bottom and work up, dont think any team has a god given right to end up in the elite division of any sport so it can be used for a promotion excercise

J7 I dont need to see how Saints attendances are next year, or whenever their stadium is finished, as said, been enough games at KR to know that they hardly filled it, if people can only go cos its on their doorstep, then it makes it more of a hobby than them being fans, something to do on a Friday night cos its convenient, I know that Widnes' ground may be a logistic nightmare to some saints fans, but over 4 thousand, give me a break

oh stop being a d ck, never for one minute suggested I know better than the RFL so dont be so bloody pedantic, I am offering an opinion due to the way I see things, that is all, you know, like you do, or should I be thinking that you are the all knowing, all seeing one who is always right?

For any business to acheive anything on a long term basis, it has to start at the bottom, just because rugby league works perfectly well "up here" doesnt mean the same philosphy will apply nationwide, it wont, you start with the kids, we all know attendances flucuate as folk dont renew season tickets, are away on their jollies, move, emigrate etc etc but to continually get very low attendances in the capital city suggests to me that folk are not that interested, you dont buy into something that wont sell, which market are you selling to, its hardly gonna chip away at the footy or union fans. People who are interested in league and following a team can do so without having a professional team in every town, city across the country. Its on sky at least 3 times a week, sky cant really promote the game much more than they do, its on local radio, its mentioned on national radio, it even has a column in the national papers and has numerous magazines. The game is growing, we've seen it in areas around London and Wales an other places but you wouldnt suggest that a lcoal team in Birmingam for example gets a franchise so we can expand to the midlands. If promotion and relegation was still in force now, Cru may have got up on merit but they would have gone down again, which to me, is the fairest way, if you're good enough, you'll play at the top level, if you're not, you wont

on one hand u say u dont know better than them , then go on to write a page worth of chit saying that u do in fact know better.

lol.

the RFL is a professional body running a professional sport in the uk. with all the professional decisions and expertise etc etc etc whoich that entails.

jen is an unemployed wire fan with 4 kids living on the social.

who am i to assume has the better ideas about the sport.

nuff said jen love.

cheese that's a harsh reply no need to bring jen's private life into it.....I agree with jen bring back promotion and relegation let teams get to Super League on merit...regardless of whether they have a posh ground or not....that way Widnes might have actually competed in the Championship instead of sitting back on a tin pot trophy win in 2009 ( although it would have been nice if Barrow won it )
