Maybe things arent as bad as they seem? Obviously we could just be playing hardball. I still expect both of them to go but I'd want at least £18m. £4-5m for Jerome, £14-16m for Dann.
Stoke double bid rejected?

Seems Stoke indeed have bid £16M but others say £8M+ addons.
I think we need to meet in the middle as down payment so £12M that can rise to £16M would be seen as a good deal for both parties.
Or Jerome for £4M that can rise to £6M and Dann £9M that can rise to £12M or if the pair then indeed £12M that can go to £16M would be good for both sides.
I cant see Jerome ever fetching more than £6M, but although i think Dann could be over £15M in future i think £12M is a more realistic price.
Ideally we would want a £12M for Dann and £6M for Jerome but in the circumstances we may have to accept £16M as long as its at least £12M garunteed.

Ferguson is old, i cant see anyone comming in for him unless we agree to release him for free
----------------------
Not necessarily.. Ferguson is the same age as Lampard, Drogba etc. And they would get games at Barca.
Fair play to the board I say. Shows that their not prepared to sell unless its the right price.
I think £18 million would be a fair price for both of them, obviously Dann taking up the majority of the bid.

What i meant is i dont see any Prem Clubs wiling to Garuntee him more than a 1 year deal apart from maybe McLeish at Villa.
I also dont think any clubs would want to pay a fee.
I think he will stay, or move to the SPL, or maybe Championship if someone would offer him a longer deal.
With Dann/Jerome.
Again i cant see us accepting less than a Garunteed £4M for Jerome and £10M for Dann.
So clubs will have to offer us £14M cash, or maybe £2M less downpayment in return for £2M plus addons. so £12M that can rise to £16M
I just cant see any club offer us £6M+ for Jerome or over £12M for Dann.
If we rejected any garunteed offer of about £15-16M for the pair, it would be a risk. It would depend on if the players was commited to stay as otherwise we may not get that kind of offer again especially if we do not get promoted.
So £14-15M cash i would say DEAL!
Less than £12M Garunteed with addons that are less than upto £16M i would say NO DEAL!
I think Jerome will be off to Stoke/Bolton for £5M within the next few weeks.
I feel our playing hard ball on Dann and Foster could keep them both here, and we have to hope we dont crack in during the last 2 weeks and then have to rush getting replacements.
Unless we do that first

According to the BBC, stoke only offered 10M for the pair.,. thats taking the "P" right???

That's why the Blues have said the deal is 'still in the air' coz Stoke have taken the 'p'...

Personally i dont see jerome as a prem striker at all.
His record is pretty woeful and lets be honest he only has pace.
Im at a loss as to why another premier club would want him at all, let alone for the money we want.
Maybe they see something in him that i dont.

I'm with you, Kingbluemachine. Even when he was scoring goals he never had much touch. He'll be a lucky boy if he plays in the Premiership next season.

Well if we get 4/5 miillion for him that'll be our best result of the season (barring the League Cup of course)

shhhhhhhhh! Kingbluemachine dont say that
Say he is the best we have ever seen or else no one will bid for him
Jerome is not used right he is a player who creates space but you need to get players near him to exploit that space, that means he needs support and/or pacey partner thats why he never worked with Zigic, Phillips, McFadden or O'Connor well because they could not get into the space Jerome creates fast enough.
That was not the case with Benitez and when he played with DJ Campbell.
Also Jerome lacks first touch and ball controll and awareness.
How do you negate those... by giving him balls for him to run onto from players by his side or infront of him.
When he scores its usually by gut reaction thus headers or shots when he attacks the ball, when his only touch is the shot.
Again what service does he need for such balls, again players who can pass to him from the side or from in front of him.
Thats why the hoofballs and balls comming from behind him where he has to turn around have failed, because he lacks the awareness and first touch to controll them.
Thats why the hoof balls down the channels dont work because he finds it hard to beat men when he has the ball at his feet and has to cut in from wide with them, and also with these long balls into space means when Jerome gets to them and then runs with the ball, this is when he has time to think about the shot and his poor composure lets him down.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE Jerome was never played right apart from in Championship under Bruce when he had more service and when we played Chucho with him.
The way we played exploited all his weaknesses, and his only Strength was then his pace and his workrate/willingness to chase lost causes.
