Yes today was hurtful and the Gooners will revel in their comeback victory, and rightly so, but let's just take a deep breath and look at the table. Hands up who would have taken that at the start of the season (let alone the opening two games)? Thought so. What matters now is that we come out fighting against United and get a result (a draw would be reasonable).
For some reason, the players just weren't at the races today. But their performances must be seen in the context of the wonderful season we're having. Parker, for instance, was woeful today yet will surely be collecting the Fans' Player of the Year award in May.
This game could even act as wake-up call for us tactically (and convince the Gooners that they don't need to invest so much in the summer after all!). This should be our line-up against United: Friedel; Walker, King, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Modric, Sandro, Bale; Adebayor, Saha

I think BAE looked weak today because the midfield was never in the game they left him & Walker too exposed!, first touch was poor and I lost count of the number of times we gave the ball away with poor passing.

Lion-el King - so BAE needs to be shot?? Have a look at the title of this article.
Spurminator - completely agree.

I lost track of the times we just pumped the ball up the field to nobody today...and it's not the first time thats happened lately. Earlier in the season we had Lennon and Bale to give us that outlet ball, now we seem to be relying on Ade getting a knock down and somebody being in the vicinity.

Anger talking. He doesn't need shooting but he certainly needs some competiton for his place. Suffers from paul robinson syndrome where he knows nobody can touch him and drops his standards. What sort of clearance was that for the 2nd goal? Not to mention his mindless hoof towards the end of the city game?

That first goal for us today showed Arsenal should have been there for the taking if we'd played to our strengths. What we needed was to stretch their back four from both flanks and the gaps would appear. Instead we played too narrow, allowed Arsenal the freedom of the park and made it far too easy for them to defend...after all it's a piece of cake marking 5 players who are all trying to work within 5 feet of each other.

he has always been prone to careless clearences . has cost us 5 goals that i can remember.. he needs to be shown this by coaching staff, but dont think we have any

Fair enough - yes agree BAE needs competition. I was at the City game and that was a sickener at the end and completely avoidable. Our best alternative without BAE is to play 5-3-2 with Bale and Walker as wing backs.
