So, all the people who get paid millions a year to talk about football were full of positives last night.... yes we lost, but we had a very youthful team and key players missing and were up against the world cup finalists.

Yet, according to the OP the whole thing can be summed up as 'rubbish'. Frankly that's more of an indictment on the OP and his/her/it's ability to understand the game of football than on the team.

Why is players like Barry, Lampard and Gerrard get over 200 caps between them, but players like Carrick, Scholes, Hoddle, Joe Cole get overlooked throughout their careers?

That´s the problem with English football. Busquets and Xavi wouldn´t have made it for their national team if they were English.

England still have no set shape as a team and no clue what the first choice 11 should be....

There is then the inability to pass & control the football....

go back to euro 96 or even 1966 and you'll see the same thing....
Many people consider it bad luck to sing our national anthem as it currently is (god save the queen) as it is supposed to be god save the king. Indeed currently many branches and regiments of the military play it but do not sing it.

personally i don't support my national team. i never have and never will. i do watch them occassionaly work permitting, and have to say usually dissappointed at what i see, and last night was no different.
and even if it was god save the king, the muppets would not sing it.
