Oxford 2 Swindon 0

Oh dear - that wasn't very good was it?

Sounds like we lost focus after the sending off, then lacked the bite in the final third and composure in front of goal to get back into it. On the other side of the coin, Oxford are a useful League 2 side, reacted really well to the sending off, and left it all on the pitch today.

Can't win 'em all.

On the plus side, results elsewhere were good for us. Cheltenham dropping points at home to Northampton, and Ling's mighty Torquay boys registering a smashing win at Crawley. Shrewsbury drew at Crewe.

Home to the Daggers next - on paper a home banker, which comes along at the right time. Important that the team puts in a good performance and bounces back straight away.

Did anyone go to the game today? The radio commentary claimed Ritchie's booking was for aiming a kick at a ballboy....!

Thoughts?

I didn't go, but listened to the commentary here in leicester. I was surprised that Connell wasn't given a game. His ratio of goals against minutes played must be the best in the club. He hasn't been given a decent run in the side. But, he is a guy who can score from 3 inches. We have players who can bomb them in from 25yards, but when they hit the woodwork etc, we need someone to pick up the sraps.

Was there, and a very frustrating day. The start was cagey but Murray really should of buried his one-on-one and then Rooney should of scored his header from the 6 yard box. Then Constable got sent off, yes it was a red. Then for some strange reason we turned off for 5 minutes after that and they scored twice. No clue what the defence was doing for both they just seem to disappear. After the two goals they stuck 9 players in the box for the entire game and we couldn't just break them down. Kind of says it all when their goalkeeper was the MoM.

Yes gutted about the result, but Paolo at the end of the match was brilliant, he showed how upset he was at the defeat and the way he got the 1200 fans up after the defeat was brilliant, pointing at their fans and pointing down, then pointing at us then pointing up, also on the pitch with the Swindon scarf aloft.

Last time we lost was agaisnt Torquay, and we went on that 10 game winning run, bring on D&R and try and get a 11 game winning run.

Thanks STFCx. I've seen the goals on the Football League show now - yes, very sloppy defending!! Especially for a unit that has been so solid all season. I can't remember Foderingham conceding more than 1 in a league match previously. Good work from PDC taking some time with the fans again. We'll see about Oxford's progress. I fancy they might be a good shout for promotion via the play-offs. We'll see - if so, you can go again next season and we'll hope for a better result!
