Does anyone know if you can sign players outside of the transfer window if their contracts are terminated? Do you think it would be worth our while going in for any players at Rangers. There was talk in January that we wanted to sign Edu but it didn’t materialise for some reason.
We could use it as an opportunity to tighten our defence (Bocangra, Papac, Wallace anyone?) or attack (Naismith?)

There was something along the lines of they can be signed but have to apply to fifa for dispensation so they are able to play due to these extenuating circumstances. We might get the chance to learn more about it in the coming years

We had a similar chat on the Bolton board and it transpired that if a player is registered with a club at the close of a transfer window he can't be signed by another club until the next window.
Basically you can only sign players outside the window that were free agents at the close of the previous window.

The fact Steve Kean's a scot would be a valuable benefit for Blackburn if these players became avaliable.

scandinavian : They wouldn't have to be decent for Kean to sign them just free and preferably signed to Anderson/Kentaro.
