My take on the horror story developing here

1. Even the most bias Evertonian will know Spurs were very unlucky to not a get a point. One obvious penalty turned down and one 50/50 handball pen turned down. If that was no pen then Adebayour scored against Man Utd One of those toss of the coin decisions. 12 attempts to 1 in the second half so luck was not with us

2. None of this should overshadow the fact that tactial errors will potentially throw away third place unless there is change in the next 2 weeks.

Playing Bale on the right is OK if you learn from the experiment.

It is OK if you do it infrequently to expose the oppositions LB and mix things up.

But it is absolutely clear he is more effective on the left, as the last 10 minutes of the game showed beyond doubt, and that should be his regular positon. Redknapp's lack of flexibility (or ignorance) on this issue is no longer acceptable.

He needs to take a good look at himself and understand how basic tactical errors are costing us points. Game after game, playing Bale on the right or giving him a free role is now becoming a very unfunny joke. As supporters, we let this slide when we were still winning games. We are now losing games and we need to go back to a basic 4-4-2 (with VDV starting games imo) and no-one playing out of position, including Modric.

3. Another tacitical mistake - starting Sandro over Livermore. Sandro will develop into a very good defensive midfielder, but he doesn't have the all round game that Livermore has, like Parker,

Livermore was very good against Utd, why has Sandro just walked back into the team? On performances this year, there is absolutely zero evidence Sandro is better than Livermore right now. No evidence at all, and yet Livermore is stuck on the bench, another poor decision.

4. Walker needs to take a good look at himself. If he continues to work hard, and develop his game, he will be a truly great player. But I think he might be starting to believe his own hype. As such, he is making basic errors rather than concentrating on the basics - a good foundation for all young players.

5. The never ending stream of poor set pieces, in particular corners. Most mangers wll always publicly argue its just 'one of those things' because to suggest otherwise means they are failing their duties on the grounding. Its now reached a stage where there is a failure of tactical organisation both attacking and defending corners. They should watch videos of teams who take corners well and try and apply that to Spurs. No more playing it by ear, so it goes so poorly they give up and resort to short corners.

It is all very simple. If they don't sort this out in the next 2 weeks max - they will not finish third, and may even allow Chelsea back in for the race for fourth. One good performance can turn things in our favour and now we need Newcastle to win Monday.

Grandspurs, its almost impossible to know if HRs mind is on another job...

Its such a serious charge to make, and would imply he's seriously unprofessional and disloyal. I personally don't see the connection between our bad run and England talk, I others are making a link.

"But its a waste of time discussing things like that on here cos some "idiot" will say something like "we only had 2 points from 8 when he arrived""

In the words of the Great Harumph (a former colleague of mine) :

You can only do/say that to me once.

The above was long used nearly a year ago.

It does look as if Harry has lost the plot with his recent selections and tactics. Perhaps he is trying to look the part as an international manager with subtle and clever tinkering of the team.

Cappellos resignation has it seems destabilised us and we have lost our momentum at a crucial stage.

We are still in 3rd pos and have a home QF FA cup game so lots to play for still despite recent setbacks.

Come on Harry! it's up to him to sort out these problems and reinstil some confidence in the team and really give it our best til the end of the season.

I am not blaming it all on that cos IMO our bad run started well before Capello resigned I am just pointing out that the last couple of weeks have been our worst and I think its more than coincidence

100% agree.. fed up with hearing people say he took us from bottom to 4th

He has taken us from 5th to 4th back to 5th

The team he took over was botton because of dressing room politics not because it was acrap team

Ramos was a big issue.
The Berba stuff was the ratboy of its time.

The seeds of where the team are now was sown in the BMJ / Comoli time (players etc) . People seem to want to whitewash over that fact.
