Morning
So after this weekend's games we find ourselves exactly where we were in many respects. We have lost ground a bit on 2nd place but still in 4th place. Results were not in our favour and thats now 26 points lost from winning positions. For me it was the fact that it was the "same old story" in terms of defending a lead deep in our half. I reckon match reports on us are written in advance as there is often a high degree of predictability.
So, now the table looks like this:
Position | Team | Played | Goal Difference | Points |
1- | Charlton | 36 | 37 | 78 |
2- | Sheffield United | 35 | 29 | 68 |
3- | Sheffield Wednesday | 36 | 20 | 67 |
4- | Huddersfield Town | 35 | 30 | 64 |
5- | MK Dons | 35 | 29 | 62 |
6- | Notts County | 36 | 8 | 56 |
So we are 4 points off second but 9 points off 7th so we should atleast make the play offs but second is still more hope than expectation. The hardest thing for me is I had previously written off second as lost but then allowed myself to believe again with the 2 points gap. I guess we should keep in the rollercoaster mood to keep hoping we can still get second, although it wont be good for any of our hearts! If its the play offs then so be it, but we are going to need to be more ruthless and stop defending so deeply.
So out of interest how many people have written off second place and how many are in the hope category?
