Confirmation that AVB screwed up

with his team selection in Naples!

Most of us already knew it, but for those who were advocating otherwise last night beautifully illustrated why you need experienced players on the park for big games in the CL.

Last night we were played of the park for the first 25 minutes and really had to dig in deep and keep calm!

That is what experienced players do, and that is why had they played in Naples, I very much doubt we would have been torn to shreds as we were that night.

But thanks AVB, cause without you, last night´s would not have been possible.

HHHBF yep. We could be witnessing the end of Torres's career right now. Hope not. He's a talented striker but only one striker in the last 10 years has worked for us. Thats Drogba. That tells me a lot about our style of play is not suited to everyone. The rest like Shevchenko, Crespo, Mutu, Kezman have not worked so Torres is in good company.

Crespo worked ok on the pitch, it was just that off the pitch he had problems with his family not liking England.

It could certainly be the end of his career in England. It's just a question of unlocking his head, which at this point is a leaking bomb. If he was still at Liverpool, he'd have gotten beyond these problems by now because they'd have put more effort into solving them.

I'm not convinced our players are behind him. As a self motivated group, i get the feeling rather than trying to nurture him they've cast him aside as a runt. And all the tension while AVB was around can't have helped matters at all, given his natural instinct is to blend rather than take sides.

Anelka worked

Biggish I think in general Italian teams are good at home and poorer away.

HHHBF fully agree with your post. Our players are very self motivating. Makes me think whether they need a manager or not
