Anyone noticed how drogba was and is getting berated for going down too easily last night, yet not one mention of Cleverleys 10/10 dive tonight! its ridiculous how blind some people are!
I think some people just need to accept diving is now part of football culture, IMO its disgraceful but thats the way it is these days, get over it rather than pointing out specific instances and having selective attention when it comes to their own clubs players!
hypocrisy

Its fustrating when its a penalty, but when a player dives in his own half I generally don't care. Nothing came of his dives so everyone should shut up about it.
FACT Rooney is the worst diver...

I think pretending someone has hit you in the face is worse than just diving imo.
Drogba seems like a good person off the pitch with all his charity work but that was shocking dishonesty last night.

Verminator- i wouldn't say so, id say diving is just as bad especially when they go rolling around as if they've "took an arrow to the knee" (sorry about the shocking skyrim reference there - saw it as a golden opportunity that il never get again) anyway its just as bad because there all trying to achieve the same goal; conning the ref.

When players are stretchered off for an "injury" but then are running around again 2 minutes later(i.e dani alves) is an absolute joke.

with the influx of foreign players in the perm its inevitable that its going to happen! its european culture
-------------------------
Just not true. It is so xenophobic to assume that cheating was started by foreigners. Some English players, playing for England too, are some of the worst divers.
Diving is a result of a players personality, some are ready to con the ref if it makes a difference in an important game.
I can give you a case of a Polish club, Wisła Kraków, as an example. They are one of the best in their domestic league, and do not dive or cheat, at least not when I watch them. But once they got to Europa League group stage, in a match against Fulham there was a case where a Wisła player was pushed in the chest, and clutched his face as if he was punched. The ref bought it and the result was a red card for Fulham in 1st half.
In big games players tend to do everything to gain an advantage. As I write this Sporting have scored a free kick against Man City. The free kick was won from a dive. How is this a part of the game? Why do you even attempt to defend it?

im not trying to defend it all! read what iv written, i think its a disgrace but you've just said so yourself...It happens!

But that is fault in the rules, or a mistake not to allow technology to settle decisions, plus FIFA think referees can do no wrong, make no mistakes.

again i agree with your point completely! football needs to go the way of rugby union and introduce technology or simulations going to continue
