Manchester United will hope Wayne Rooney shrugs off the knock he suffered during Thursday night's Europa League defeat in Spain in time to faces Wolves on Sunday. Rooney stayed down following a challenge by Jon Aurtenetxe in the second half of the 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao, although he was able to complete the game and score his 27th goal of the season.

Paul Scholes is set to return in midfield at Molineux, where victory would take United four points clear at the top of the Premier League, whilst Phil Jones hopes to shrug off a flu bug.

Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United): "We always take teams seriously. That is the one quality we have had for years and years. We don't take anything for granted. It is a year on but it is the same scenario. We were top of the league then, they were towards the bottom part. We have to perform."

Wolves caretaker manager Terry Connor has no fresh injury problems. Midfielder Karl Henry is the only player sidelined and he hopes to return from his hamstring injury for the match at Norwich on March 24. Connor has to decide whether to recall skipper Roger Johnson, with Wolves having leaked nine goals in three games since he dropped the centre-back.

Terry Connor (Wolves): "We’ve just got to be at our absolute best and we hope Man United will be below theirs. They’ve no weaknesses. We’ll need a load of luck and we’ll need every supporter to be right behind the lads on Sunday for every second of the game. If everyone is on top of their game – supporters, players, staff – and if Man United fall just below their standards, then we have a chance of getting something from the game."
