I'd go gallas and nelson without a doubt.
I'm sure harry will play ledley though, which scares the crap out of me.
KIng or Gallas, and Nelsen for me. One central defender out of two who can occasionally move on both legs is preferable imo.
Arry's got to play Sandro.
Leaving him on the bench against Norwich was a blunder.
exposed the back four and their weaknesses.
if we're choosing our formation based on the lack of capability of our centre backs, it's a sorry state of affairs.
Well, ... 1 out of 8 IS "a sorry state of affairs", aint it?

--------------------
The 4-4-2 exposed the weakness. But not playing Sandro? Are you serious?! In the previous two games he had been utterly, utterly, dreadful, and our worst player on the pitch by far. Didn't you see him coming off when he was last substituted and shaking his head non-stop, looking absolutely gutted, because he knew how useless he'd been?
Great player in the making, but hasn't been able to do it this season, mainly because he's out for almost all of it, which is a great shame in my book as he was shaping up great last season (after the early doubters on the old 606).
'Match fit' he is not right now, and it's exactly the wrong time to bring him in - low team confidence and his own confidence in himself at rock bottom.
Play Livermore I reckon if Parker can't make it - 6/10 games this season he's been stunning for me.
Harry Redknapp's said that David Bentley could be on the bench against Chelsea on Sunday, because he's struggling to find seven subs.
is that what he said ?
'the way we're looking i'll have to put david bentley on the bench ?'
dont see why he'd be struglling anyway :
cudicinni
rose
king (or other cb)
livermore (or other cm)
vdv (or lennon)
defoe
saha
what's he moaning about ?
gallas and king to start,
parker and sandro to start cm for protection
I agree with Chronic.
But I must say I did not see Sandro's last game.
If he was as bad and lacking in match fitness as Kimchi says, well, I'd leave it to Arry.
kimchi - I think anyone that saw the last game would agree Sandro had a bad game, but "utterly utterly dreadful" is going a bit far in my opinion. Yes he didn't look sharp, but he recovered the ball when he lost it and saved Ledley on at least one occasion. He's a deep-lying CDM, not a conventional CM from what I can see and the footage i've seen of him at Inter.
For similar resons I don't think Parker and him should play together - they're both in the team to do the same job - break up play and pass to Modric. I'd like to see Sandro or Parker sitting behind Modric and Livermore in the middle. Even Kranjcar, as unlikely as that is.
My team for Sunday would be:
Walker (needs a rest) - Gallas - King - Benny
--------------- Parker/Sandro
Lennon - Livermore/Kranjcar - Modric - Bale
------------------ VDV
------------------ Ade
One beer too many = one player too many!
Drop Livermore/Kranjcar and stick VDV in there
big fan of the beast...but he's a cert at some stage to crunch mata....i fear him lasting on a big open pitch like wembley...
i'd play with the full backs pinched in more....i know that negates them going forward...but i fear them getting caught upfield.....
i think kaboul is a must and also that sandro has been outstanding for out older cb making some of the tackles he has been making and slowing down a lot of the play when the other team is on the offense. his passing can improve but i think that will come soon with him considering he is only 22
how many runs did he score ?
golden quacker i'm afraid.....
i think the only players weve got who would be good cricketers are walker, bale and possibly defoe.
surely brad wld be a good keeper.......
