Four third place qualifiers definitely undermines the group stages though. You can lose a game as well as not even win a single game and still qualify.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think so. For example 3rd place in our group gets Germany (in all likelihood). Whereas 2nd place gets one of Austria/Hungary/Iceland (probably). Big difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah third place will undoubtedly get a tougher draw but when you get to the knockout stages of a big tournament there are no easy games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yeah, there are easy games if 3rd place out of 4 gets through

Yep over 90% of the qualifying games are awful.

Dunno, it's just way too bouncy.
TCW how can I strengthen my lower back?
Isometric stuff too. And your essential lifts like squats.
Depends why you are strengthening it on what would be best.
I can't do a lot of ab exercises due to my lower back being affected more than my abs. Also even with pretty good form my lower back hurts after dead lifts. I'm assuming this is due to a weaker lower back relative to the rest of my body.
Or a lingering back injury?
Isn't lower back meant to 'hurt' most after deadlifts?

I feel it most in my lower back but not in an injury sort of way

When lifting remember to lock your knees and bend at the waist.
Obers it's a sort of dull, radiating pain and not the usual soreness you get.

Is this with deadlifts or ab exercises?
If ab then maybe just change the exercises to ones which don't target the lower back so much, and if deadlifts probably get a belt.
I hate deadlifts personally. Coaching them is a bltch cause so much can go wrong and it takes so long to get perfect and it is obviously essential to get it bang on or you will wreck your back as has been shown above.
