Is this Ajax LB as good as Chilwell then? I see him quoted a lot as a cheaper alternative, who’s seemingly been available for a while so clearly isn’t our first choice target.

Chilwell is younger so has the potential to improve. Tagliafico is 27 and is just over 20 mil.

I don't rate Chilwell that highly and have not seen much of Tagliafico other than his games vs us.

And yeah he's a backup target like Reguillon who we have also been linked with.

I'd prefer either of them two over £60+ on Chilwell.

I guess with Lamps we can point to a fearless attitude when it comes to playing young players with talent

And also to Abraham, Mount, James and Puli firmly establishing themselves as 1st team choices. Gilmour and Tomori as well to a lesser extent getting opportunities

The big question people arent looking at is how good is Ian Maatsen?

Massive reputation in our academy - if he is PVA or Bertrand level we should sign someone else, if he has potential to be world class then signing Chilwell is idiocy.

Probably worth signing Tagliafico as he's 27 which will give Maatsen time to develop and get game time elsewhere for the time being.
