Mauricio Pochettino:
"We still need to assess a few players like Chilwell after playing two games. I think he got a knock in his knee. Today, he wasn't ready to train. We will see what will happen if he can be in the squad. Enzo has still not arrived."

A knock to Chilwell's knee will probably require surgery knowing him.
Probably done for the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watching him play for England I did think to myself blimey you've been uninjured for far too long for your normal standards lol. We desperately need all new LB's. Could have just played Maatsen there but we don't do normal do we.
Genuinely would’ve been better off sticking with the academy boys at LB this season.
You can talk about pure profit but whichever way you look at it £60m spent on Cucu and £30m received for Maatsen is not good for the financial health of this club. I’m sure the wages are much worse too.
Cucu isnt that bad i prefer him to chillwell

The review actually began well over a year ago so current situation doesn't make for particularly good reading.
Have heard it suggested that training methods for the majority of last season didn't help the situation so maybe coaching team at that time as well as medical staff?
Also the loss of a substantial amount of combined years experience in the medical staff who were shown the door so to speak more or less at the same time by new owners.
Particular impact as a knock on saw the retained Conditioning staff far less experienced, and, apparently managing only one game a week is a lot more difficult than managing playing two games a week consistently. (which totally surprised me.)
Was also strong criticism levelled at the the organisation of the two previous pre-seasons, very difficult to effect change that has any realistic impact once the season has begun.
I guess they need to appoint a new head fairly quickly so ensure that that previous problems are not repeated next season.

Can't imagine our players have taken too kindly to Poch's gruelling training sessions. He's famously known for that Gacon test he makes the players do.

Be funny as balls if they did
Could easily see Potter being on their shortlist though, comes from that same Swansea setup Rodgers did.
If I had to guess Nagelsmann will be their #1 target, Amorim or De Zerbi #2, and Potter the fall back option.
It's an interesting position they're in. Do they go for someone a bit more relaxed, or try to keep the intensity Klopp has in the group? They're in transition so both options are viable.
