Maresca's football is not my cup of tea but he done well last season in achieving the objectives. Not backed in the summer window with the right type of signings and profiles of player required to take us forward.
Would have liked to see what he could have done had we bought a GK and CB instead of buying a million wingers. Been unfortunate with the injuries already this season, losing Delap and Colwill was definitely not ideal.
If we do replace him anytime soon, I'd like the Bournemouth coach - prefer his style of play and he's doing well given how many players they've lost this year
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that pretty much echoes my thoughts although seeing that we've gone this far with Maresca and invested so much into him I want to see him given this whole season to see how he does. He's definitely been somewhat shafted by the club with a very questionable summer transfer window.
Iraola is definitely an option we should look at though if Maresca eventually parts ways with Chelsea. Which will of course happen sooner or later as we're Chelsea and managers don't tend to last much more than a season here.
I think we have to give him until Christmas at least... See how the Champions League goes
Also the next 3 months may well depend on who stays fit...fofana is flakey as fack, The new players are unproved and will stay that way until maresca uses them in any capacity
Guiu remains unused to this date this season for reasons best known to the boss, Lavia yet again is conspicuous by his absence..
You know
🗣 Wesley Fofana: "I feel proud [to represent Chelsea], but it's a long way until I'm finished. I'm only 24 years old and I have to work a lot, but the most important thing is to leave your mark in the history of the club – and try to do everything for the club to win trophies."
🗣 @GraemeBailey: "With Konate, they [Liverpool] are aware that it is not just the likes of Madrid and Munich who could try and make him an offer, but they accept that – why wouldn’t someone like Chelsea make an offer if he is available on a free?"

Because he's 26 and therefore classed as a pensioner
Maresca to be honest as exceeded my expectations. As the jump from Leicester to us seemed a lot. Him and Kompany , even Arteta, are probably proof top clubs can widen their scope when it comes to managers to be honest.
‼️ Bayern Munich have already negotiated a five-year contract with Nicolas Jackson's camp, as they want to keep the striker beyond his one-year loan.

Carlo Ancelotti revealed in his latest autobiography, “The Dream” how Abramovich sacked him for subbing off Torres:
🗣 "Success or failure in Europe is how I would be measured by Abramovich - and the Champions League cost me my job.
The night before the second leg, Abramovich warned the squad that if they didn’t win there would be changes.
He then told me that if we lost, I should not bother coming back in the next day. Torres was clearly suffering from a lack of confidence and felt the weight of his transfer fee hanging round his neck.
What happened next was inevitable. Torres was his personal decision and substituting him was a direct rebuke to the owner."

Yeah this is true, at the moment we're a mess. Palmer and Delap being out at that same time shouldn't be this devastating to our attack but thanks to the way this squad has been constructed sadly they are.
The lack of DM alternative if Caicedo gets injured is another potential big problem area and Lavia simply can't be relied on at all for anything it seems. And CB area is just another worry with Fofana only a bit less flakey than Lavia in terms of reliability.
Our squad shouldn't be as weakened as it currently is but here we are.

Yeah I thought he might have got chewed up under all the pressure and constant spotlight like Potter did but he's clearly mentally very strong.

Crazy where we are, but it seemed winger musical chairs was more important than fixing actual issues.......but hey what do we know right?
I need to see him improve further
If we see signs that top 4 manager is as far as he can go, then we make a judgement call from there

Yeah I'd agree with this. While I don't like the idea of clubs hiring to "fit their model", cos in reality that translates to "easier to control", I personally won't judge the manager in question until I've seen them in action again.
Saturday's sh!tshow aside, I didn't expect a novice to be as tactically astute as Marseca is. Pep's a good teacher
Matt Law on the pod did not make for great listening
Stadium decision/any movement there probably isnt going to happen while Todd and Clearlake are at war - which they still are
Front of shirt may actually be held up because we cant get what we want for the deal while theres a chance we get sporting sanctions from the FA and PL for the self reported stuff
We sacked yet another commercial director sort of person
Badiashile, Achempong, Lavia and Guiu seen training.
Palmer missing.
Have they sent out a search party?

🗣 Jamie Carragher: "It is baffling how few pundits and supporters believe they will be, or in some case even should be, fighting with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain in 2025-26.
Chelsea are not being judged to the same standard they were under Abramovich because they are hiding behind a prolonged transitional phase, which keeps extending by targeting a similar profile of young players in each transfer window."

OK seriously what's up with Carragher this season?
He's right on most things he says about us, but why is he repeating it over & over again? Is he secretly worried about us? And if so, what the hell for?
This must be cos Liverpool are taking shots for buying the league this year right? He's gotta divert attention to a team that's spending more & not even trying to buy the league
