Dissapointing in the end, but not a disaster
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering our next opponents, its a terrible result. Need to pick up maximum points against weaker opposition or you leave yourself with far too much to do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't say it was a terrible result tbf. These beat Benfica in their ground so they're no mugs clearly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus, if Palmer is back, we can beat Barca at home. The only time they ever got a result agst us at SB was due to a khant of a ref

Typical Chelsea mate. Looked ok up top. Created most their chances at the back from unprovoked mistakes and gifted them 2 goals. Only real difference was Lavia died within 5mins, the shooter has yet to be found.

Yeah not winning today is disastrous for that reason.
What’s the point in resting players in a very winnable game when it means you have to play the best team against a much harder opponent when winning is even less likely.

Hato did well at CB against Liverpool. But he’s blown his chance of being a viable option there.
Veiga was a better CB

CBs were awful today, but we remain a team that simply does not create enough high quality chances. 1.1xg over 90 against Qarabag, City already 0.9xg against Dortmund in 30 minutes.

Don't think we were actively resting anyone necessarily. We have a lot of games to play and a squad of players who all want to play and need at least some gametime.
A manager is damned either because if he plays his strongest team every game then he has a squad of unhappy players and an exhaused first team. And on paper Qarabag is a game that you might think we can still win with a few changes.
We still started the game with plenty of first teamers and with the exception of the already very overplayed Caicedo and Enzo I don't think there's anyone else on the bench who necessarily should have started today.

Yeah and only City have scored more than us in the PL so far this season thanks to goal machine Haaland. We on the other hand are still struggling to establish a consistent 9 in the side.

Opta credited us with 3.7xg vs spurs, so we jumped up the list this week. Maybe you're right, but I reckon over the full 38 games we end up some way short of the leading pack.

True, but you then have to argue it is his fault when he playing a winger, who has been pretty bad/terrible historically when played as a striker, with 2 fit strikers on the bench and a LB at CB. Some people here were able to identify that Carryabags could be a problem so not really a place to start probably our worst performing fit CB and a LB at the back when we had again 3 fit CBs on the bench
